Kata Kunci: COVID 19; Metode Pembelajaran; Daring; KBM.Abstract: The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted community activities from activities outside the home and face-to-face to home-based activities and carried out online. One of the shifts in activities referred to is the teaching and learning activities in schools. The purpose of this service is so that the teachers at SIT Mushab bin Umair have additional abilities in online teaching and learning activities, namely being able to make videos using the screen capture method. The method of implementing this activity starts from the socialization of the activities, the second is the implementation of training in schools and online, the third is the activity evaluation stage. The use of instructional video media is one of the efforts to support this online teaching and learning activities. In this activity, it was introduced how to make learning videos for the screen capture method, where the teacher could record explanations of teaching materials that had been stored on the PC. From the student's point of view, videos made by the teacher themselves will feel more comfortable watching, because students already know the figure who provides explanations on the video, compared to watching learning videos made by other people. The training for making learning videos was held at SIT Mushab bin Umair. It is hoped that with this training activity teachers will be better prepared to face online teaching and learning activities during the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemi

Capturing "attrition intensifying" structural traits from didactic interaction sequences of MOOC learners

This work is an attempt to discover hidden structural configurations in learning activity sequences of students in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Leveraging combined representations of video clickstream interactions and forum activities, we seek to fundamentally understand traits that are predictive of decreasing engagement over time. Grounded in the interdisciplinary field of network science, we follow a graph based approach to successfully extract indicators of active and passive MOOC participation that reflect persistence and regularity in the overall interaction footprint. Using these rich educational semantics, we focus on the problem of predicting student attrition, one of the major highlights of MOOC literature in the recent years. Our results indicate an improvement over a baseline ngram based approach in capturing "attrition intensifying" features from the learning activities that MOOC learners engage in. Implications for some compelling future research are discussed.Comment: "Shared Task" submission for EMNLP 2014 Workshop on Modeling Large Scale Social Interaction in Massively Open Online Course

poster abstractAbstract: Grounded in constructivist/cognitive learning theory, this paper explores the assessment of student learning in one learning module in one Labor Studies class in one Midwestern university using alternative assessment which integrates teaching and learning activities with assessment through writing activities, the prominent means of communication in an online environment. The purpose of this study, grounded in the most positive and powerful aspects of cognitive learning theory, social learning theory, and adult learning theory, is to assess student learning at the higher order thinking of the cognitive domain based on a pedagogy of learning-teaching-assessment (Speck, 2002). The study’s population is 29 students in one online class L100, Survey of Unions and Collective Bargaining in one large Midwestern university and focuses on one learning module, Federal Labor Law and Agencies. Speck (2002) suggests alternative assessment, which measures student abilities to use higher level thinking skills such as synthesis, analysis, and evaluation and includes team activities, peer evaluation, self-evaluations, and portfolios, provides instructors a more accurate measure of student learning. By providing students with alternative learning activities based on different learning styles and relating to subject content, the student shifts from passive to active engagement with the content, shifts from focusing on information to communication, and shifts from being an individual learner to a learner in a socially situated learning environment (Conole, 2010). The findings from this study suggest that students prefer a written lecture format or some combination of written, video, and interactive lecture format over a video or interactive format. These findings may reflect that students’ time on task is shorter when engaging with the written format versus a video or interactive format
