ABC: A Simple Explicit Congestion Controller for Wireless Networks
We propose Accel-Brake Control (ABC), a simple and deployable explicit
congestion control protocol for network paths with time-varying wireless links.
ABC routers mark each packet with an "accelerate" or "brake", which causes
senders to slightly increase or decrease their congestion windows. Routers use
this feedback to quickly guide senders towards a desired target rate. ABC
requires no changes to header formats or user devices, but achieves better
performance than XCP. ABC is also incrementally deployable; it operates
correctly when the bottleneck is a non-ABC router, and can coexist with non-ABC
traffic sharing the same bottleneck link. We evaluate ABC using a Wi-Fi
implementation and trace-driven emulation of cellular links. ABC achieves
30-40% higher throughput than Cubic+Codel for similar delays, and 2.2X lower
delays than BBR on a Wi-Fi path. On cellular network paths, ABC achieves 50%
higher throughput than Cubic+Codel

Among the techniques proposed for B-ISDN transfer mode, ATM concept is considered to be the most promising transfer technique because of its flexibility and efficiency. This paper surveys and reviews a number of topics related to ATM networks. Those topics cover congestion control, provision of multiple classes of traffic, and error control. Due to the nature of ATM networks, those issues are far more challenging than in conventional networks. Comparative Study Of Congestion Control Techniques In High Speed Networks
Congestion in network occurs due to exceed in aggregate demand as compared to
the accessible capacity of the resources. Network congestion will increase as
network speed increases and new effective congestion control methods are
needed, especially to handle bursty traffic of todays very high speed networks.
Since late 90s numerous schemes i.e. [1]...[10] etc. have been proposed. This
paper concentrates on comparative study of the different congestion control
schemes based on some key performance metrics. An effort has been made to judge
the performance of Maximum Entropy (ME) based solution for a steady state
GE/GE/1/N censored queues with partial buffer sharing scheme against these key
