Recent Advances and Applications of Fractional-Order Neural Networks
This paper focuses on the growth, development, and future of various forms of fractional-order neural networks. Multiple advances in structure, learning algorithms, and methods have been critically investigated and summarized. This also includes the recent trends in the dynamics of various fractional-order neural networks. The multiple forms of fractional-order neural networks considered in this study are Hopfield, cellular, memristive, complex, and quaternion-valued based networks. Further, the application of fractional-order neural networks in various computational fields such as system identification, control, optimization, and stability have been critically analyzed and discussed
Stabilising Model Predictive Control for Discrete-time Fractional-order Systems
In this paper we propose a model predictive control scheme for constrained
fractional-order discrete-time systems. We prove that all constraints are
satisfied at all time instants and we prescribe conditions for the origin to be
an asymptotically stable equilibrium point of the controlled system. We employ
a finite-dimensional approximation of the original infinite-dimensional
dynamics for which the approximation error can become arbitrarily small. We use
the approximate dynamics to design a tube-based model predictive controller
which steers the system state to a neighbourhood of the origin of controlled
size. We finally derive stability conditions for the MPC-controlled system
which are computationally tractable and account for the infinite dimensional
nature of the fractional-order system and the state and input constraints. The
proposed control methodology guarantees asymptotic stability of the
discrete-time fractional order system, satisfaction of the prescribed
constraints and recursive feasibility
Controllability results of neutral Caputo fractional functional differential equations
In this paper, using the properties of the phase space on infinite delay, generalized Gronwall inequality and fixed point theorems, the existence and controllability results of neutral fractional functional differential equations with multi-term Caputo fractional derivatives were obtained under Lipschitz and non-Lipschitz conditions
EQUADIFF 15
Equadiff 15 – Conference on Differential Equations and Their Applications – is an international conference in the world famous series Equadiff running since 70 years ago. This booklet contains conference materials related with the 15th Equadiff conference in the Czech and Slovak series, which was held in Brno in July 2022. It includes also a brief history of the East and West branches of Equadiff, abstracts of the plenary and invited talks, a detailed program of the conference, the list of participants, and portraits of four Czech and Slovak outstanding mathematicians
Nonlinear Systems
Open Mathematics is a challenging notion for theoretical modeling, technical analysis, and numerical simulation in physics and mathematics, as well as in many other fields, as highly correlated nonlinear phenomena, evolving over a large range of time scales and length scales, control the underlying systems and processes in their spatiotemporal evolution. Indeed, available data, be they physical, biological, or financial, and technologically complex systems and stochastic systems, such as mechanical or electronic devices, can be managed from the same conceptual approach, both analytically and through computer simulation, using effective nonlinear dynamics methods. The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight papers that show the dynamics, control, optimization and applications of nonlinear systems. This has recently become an increasingly popular subject, with impressive growth concerning applications in engineering, economics, biology, and medicine, and can be considered a veritable contribution to the literature. Original papers relating to the objective presented above are especially welcome subjects. Potential topics include, but are not limited to: Stability analysis of discrete and continuous dynamical systems; Nonlinear dynamics in biological complex systems; Stability and stabilization of stochastic systems; Mathematical models in statistics and probability; Synchronization of oscillators and chaotic systems; Optimization methods of complex systems; Reliability modeling and system optimization; Computation and control over networked systems
Stability of systems of fractional-order differential equations with caputo derivatives
Systems of fractional-order differential equations present stability properties which differ in a substantial way from those of systems of integer order. In this paper, a detailed analysis of the stability of linear systems of fractional differential equations with Caputo derivative is proposed. Starting from the well-known Matignon’s results on stability of single-order systems, for which a different proof is provided together with a clarification of a limit case, the investigation is moved towards multi-order systems as well. Due to the key role of the Mittag–Leffler function played in representing the solution of linear systems of FDEs, a detailed analysis of the asymptotic behavior of this function and of its derivatives is also proposed. Some numerical experiments are presented to illustrate the main results
Special fast diffusion with slow asymptotics. Entropy method and flow on a Riemannian manifold
We consider the asymptotic behaviour of positive solutions of the
fast diffusion equation
posed for x\in\RR^d, , with a precise value for the exponent
. The space dimension is so that , and even
for . This case had been left open in the general study \cite{BBDGV} since
it requires quite different functional analytic methods, due in particular to
the absence of a spectral gap for the operator generating the linearized
evolution.
The linearization of this flow is interpreted here as the heat flow of the
Laplace-Beltrami operator of a suitable Riemannian Manifold (\RR^d,{\bf g}),
with a metric which is conformal to the standard \RR^d metric.
Studying the pointwise heat kernel behaviour allows to prove {suitable
Gagliardo-Nirenberg} inequalities associated to the generator. Such
inequalities in turn allow to study the nonlinear evolution as well, and to
determine its asymptotics, which is identical to the one satisfied by the
linearization. In terms of the rescaled representation, which is a nonlinear
Fokker--Planck equation, the convergence rate turns out to be polynomial in
time. This result is in contrast with the known exponential decay of such
representation for all other values of .Comment: 37 page
