Convergence behaviour of structural FSM traversal
We present a theoretical analysis of structural FSM traversal, which is the basis for the sequential equivalence checking algorithm Record & Play presented earlier. We compare the convergence behaviour of exact and approximative structural FSM traversal with that of standard BDD-based FSM traversal. We show that for most circuits encountered in practice exact structural FSM traversal reaches the fixed point as fast as symbolic FSM traversal, while approximation can significantly reduce in the number of iterations needed. Our experiments confirm these results
A semantic-based platform for the digital analysis of architectural heritage
This essay focuses on the fields of architectural documentation and digital representation. We present a research paper concerning the development of an information system at the scale of architecture, taking into account the relationships that can be established between the representation of buildings (shape, dimension, state of conservation, hypothetical restitution) and heterogeneous information about various fields (such as the technical, the documentary or still the historical one). The proposed approach aims to organize multiple representations (and associated information) around a semantic description model with the goal of defining a system for the multi-field analysis of buildings
Some issues in the 'archaeology' of software evolution
During a software project's lifetime, the software goes through many changes, as components are added, removed and modified to fix bugs and add new features. This paper is intended as a lightweight introduction to some of the issues arising from an `archaeological' investigation of software evolution. We use our own work to look at some of the challenges faced, techniques used, findings obtained, and lessons learnt when measuring and visualising the historical changes that happen during the evolution of software
Duality in Integrable Systems and Gauge Theories
We discuss various dualities, relating integrable systems and show that these
dualities are explained in the framework of Hamiltonian and Poisson reductions.
The dualities we study shed some light on the known integrable systems as well
as allow to construct new ones, double elliptic among them. We also discuss
applications to the (supersymmetric) gauge theories in various dimensions.Comment: harvmac 45 pp.; v4. minor corrections, to appear in JHE
