Information Technology of Software Architecture Structural Synthesis of Information System
Information technology of information system software architecture structural synthesis is proposed. It is used for evolutionary models of the software lifecycle, which provides configuration and formation of software to control the realization and recovery of computing processes in parallel and distributed computing resources structures. The technology is applied in the framework of the software requirements analysis, design of architecture, design and integration of software. Method of combining vertices for multilevel graph model of software architecture and automata-based method of checking performance limitations to software are based on the advanced graph model of software architecture. These methods are proposed in the framework of information technology and allow forming a rational structure of the program, as well as checking for compliance with the functional and non-functional requirements of the end user. The essence of proposed information technology is in displaying of the customer's requirements in the current version of the graph model of program complex structure and providing a reconfiguration of the system modules. This process is based on the analysis and processing of the graph model, software module specifications, formation of software structure in accordance with the graph model, software verification and its compilation
Testing the mutual consistency of different supernovae surveys
It is now common practice to constrain cosmological parameters using
supernovae (SNe) catalogues constructed from several different surveys. Before
performing such a joint analysis, however, one should check that parameter
constraints derived from the individual SNe surveys that make up the catalogue
are mutually consistent. We describe a statistically-robust mutual consistency
test, which we calibrate using simulations, and apply it to each pairwise
combination of the surveys making up, respectively, the UNION2 catalogue and
the very recent JLA compilation by Betoule et al. We find no inconsistencies in
the latter case, but conclusive evidence for inconsistency between some survey
pairs in the UNION2 catalogue.Comment: 8 pages, 9 figures, submitted to MNRA
The design of the man/machine interface for a transistor tester
This project is a practical exercise in system design
undertaken by the previously named group of Electrical and
Control Engineering students. The object of the project is
the practical embodiment of ergonomic and systems design
concepts incorporated within a lecture series in the subject.
The whole project took place over the Spring Term and part of
the Summer Term of the 1964/65 Academic Year.
The material in this report was arrived at by considerable
discussion amongst the whole group, although for convenience in
the following text, the sections were each compiled by an individual
member. This method of compilation has led to a small amount of
overlapping between sections.
The project itself is concerned with the design of the
interface between a machine for carrying out tests on transistors
and the operator of such a machine. In essence it amounts to the
design of the controls and display panel. The commercial version
of this instrument, made by the American firm Tektronix, was not
examined until late in the project and consequently much of the
design arrived at by the C.O.L. (College of Aeronautics) group is
original.
The C.O.A. group wish to acknowledge the help and guidance
given by Mr. D. Whitfield of the Ergonomics Laboratory, C.O.A.,
during this project
The Philosophy of Julian Tuwim’s Stanza
The aim of the article is to argue that Tuwim’s way of conceptualizing both the world and poetry was based on the principle of stanza. In his opinion, the entire world and our experience of it reach us in a stanzaic form. In Tuwim’s writing the stanza could be compared to an atom of poetic structure. It also builds our primary consciousness of language. The stanzaic structure of our poetic and linguistic experience imposes an order on the universe as we see it. Tuwim hears and thinks his world as a stanza.Zadanie „Stworzenie anglojęzycznych wersji wydawanych publikacji” finansowane w ramach umowy nr 948/P-DUN/2016 ze środków Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego przeznaczonych na działalność upowszechniającą naukę
Are Light Sterile Neutrinos Preferred or Disfavored by Cosmology?
We find that the viability of a cosmological model that incorporates 2
sterile neutrinos with masses around 1 eV each, as favored by global neutrino
oscillation analyses including short baseline results, is significantly
dependent on the choice of datasets included in the analysis and the ability to
control the systematic uncertainties associated with these datasets. Our
analysis includes a variety of cosmological probes including the cosmic
microwave background (WMAP7+SPT), Hubble constant (HST), galaxy power spectrum
(SDSS-DR7), and supernova distances (SDSS and Union2 compilations). In the
joint observational analysis, our sterile neutrino model is equally favored as
a LCDM model when using the MLCS light curve fitter for the supernova
measurements, and strongly disfavored by the data at \Delta\chi^2 ~ 18 when
using the SALT2 fitter. When excluding the supernova measurements, the sterile
neutrino model is disfavored by the other datasets at \Delta\chi^2 ~ 12, and at
best becomes mildly disfavored at \Delta\chi^2 ~ 3 when allowing for curvature,
evolving dark energy, additional relativistic species, running of the spectral
index, and freedom in the primordial helium abundance. No single additional
parameter accounts for most of this effect. Therefore, if laboratory
experiments continue to favor a scenario with roughly eV mass sterile
neutrinos, and if this becomes decisively disfavored by cosmology, then a more
exotic cosmological model than explored here may become necessary.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures. Minor refinements, reflects version accepted for

Improved cosmological constraints from new, old, and combined supernova data sets
We present a new compilation of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), a new data set of low-redshift nearby-Hubble-flow SNe, and new analysis procedures to work with these heterogeneous compilations. This Union compilation of 414 SNe Ia, which reduces to 307 SNe after selection cuts, includes the recent large samples of SNe Ia from the Supernova Legacy Survey and ESSENCE Survey, the older data sets, as well as the recently extended data set of distant supernovae observed with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). A single, consistent, and blind analysis procedure is used for all the various SN Ia subsamples, and a new procedure is implemented that consistently weights the heterogeneous data sets and rejects outliers. We present the latest results from this Union compilation and discuss the cosmological constraints from this new compilation and its combination with other cosmological measurements (CMB and BAO). The constraint we obtain from supernovae on the dark energy density isΩΛ = 0.713-0.029+0.027(stat) -0.039+0.036(sys), for a flat, ACDM universe. Assuming a constant equation of state parameter, w, the combined constraints from SNe, BAO, and CMB give w = -0.969-0.063+0.059(stat) -0.066+0.063(sys). While our results are consistent with a cosmological constant, we obtain only relatively weak constraints on a w that varies with redshift. In particular, the current SN data do not yet significantly constrain w at z \u3e 1. With the addition of our new nearby Hubble-flow SNe Ia, these resulting cosmological constraints are currently the tightest available. © 2008. The American Astronomical Society. All rights reserved
Tuwim and Witkacy: Visual Translation of 'Kalinowe dwory'
The article offers a comparative analysis of a lost painting by Witkacy (know only from a photographic reproduction) and a poem by Julian Tuwim. Tuwim’s poem inspired Witkacy to create his work. The poem is used by the author as a model for interpreting philosophical aspects of Witkacy’s painterly composition, offering a concluding remark that the visual translation of the poem reflects Witkacy’s aesthetic philosophy. The article also provides an new way of reading Tuwim’s poetry in which the painterly aspect of his writing is being particularly exposed.Zadanie „Stworzenie anglojęzycznych wersji wydawanych publikacji” finansowane w ramach umowy nr 948/P-DUN/2016 ze środków Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego przeznaczonych na działalność upowszechniającą naukę
DBI models for the unification of dark matter and dark energy
We propose a model based on a DBI action for the unification of dark matter
and dark energy. This is supported by the results of the study of its
background behavior at early and late times, and reinforced by the analysis of
the evolution of perturbations. We also perform a Bayesian analysis to set
observational constraints on the parameters of the model using type Ia SN, CMB
shift and BAO data. Finally, to complete the study we investigate its
kinematics aspects, such as the effective equation of state parameter,
acceleration parameter and transition redshift. Particularizing those
parameters for the best fit one appreciates that an effective phantom is
preferred.Comment: 11 pages, 8 figures, revtex, new reference
