Fitting aggregation operators to data
Theoretical advances in modelling aggregation of information produced a wide range of aggregation operators, applicable to almost every practical problem. The most important classes of aggregation operators include triangular norms, uninorms, generalised means and OWA operators.With such a variety, an important practical problem has emerged: how to fit the parameters/ weights of these families of aggregation operators to observed data? How to estimate quantitatively whether a given class of operators is suitable as a model in a given practical setting? Aggregation operators are rather special classes of functions, and thus they require specialised regression techniques, which would enforce important theoretical properties, like commutativity or associativity. My presentation will address this issue in detail, and will discuss various regression methods applicable specifically to t-norms, uninorms and generalised means. I will also demonstrate software implementing these regression techniques, which would allow practitioners to paste their data and obtain optimal parameters of the chosen family of operators.<br /

Fuzzy Sets, Fuzzy Logic and Their Applications 2020
The present book contains the 24 total articles accepted and published in the Special Issue âFuzzy Sets, Fuzzy Logic and Their Applications, 2020â of the MDPI Mathematics journal, which covers a wide range of topics connected to the theory and applications of fuzzy sets and systems of fuzzy logic and their extensions/generalizations. Discrete Mathematics and Symmetry
Some of the most beautiful studies in Mathematics are related to Symmetry and Geometry. For this reason, we select here some contributions about such aspects and Discrete Geometry. As we know, Symmetry in a system means invariance of its elements under conditions of transformations. When we consider network structures, symmetry means invariance of adjacency of nodes under the permutations of node set. The graph isomorphism is an equivalence relation on the set of graphs. Therefore, it partitions the class of all graphs into equivalence classes. The underlying idea of isomorphism is that some objects have the same structure if we omit the individual character of their components. A set of graphs isomorphic to each other is denominated as an isomorphism class of graphs. The automorphism of a graph will be an isomorphism from G onto itself. The family of all automorphisms of a graph G is a permutation group
On constructing the largest and smallest uninorms on bounded lattices
© 2019 Elsevier B.V. Uninorms on the unit interval are a common extension of triangular norms (t-norms) and triangular conorms (t-conorms). As important aggregation operators, uninorms play a very important role in fuzzy logic and expert systems. Recently, several researchers have studied constructions of uninorms on more general bounded lattices. In particular, Ăaylı (2019) gave two methods for constructing uninorms on a bounded lattice L with eâLâ{0,1}, which is based on a t-norm Te on [0,e] and a t-conorms Se on [e,1] that satisfy strict boundary conditions. In this paper, we propose two new methods for constructing uninorms on bounded lattices. Our constructed uninorms are indeed the largest and the smallest among all uninorms on L that have the same restrictions Te and Se on [0,e] and, respectively, [e,1]. Moreover, our constructions does not require the boundary condition, and thus completely solved an open problem raised by Ăaylı

Mathematical fuzzy logic (MFL) specifically targets many-valued logic and has significantly contributed to the logical foundations of fuzzy set theory (FST). It explores the computational and philosophical rationale behind the uncertainty due to imprecision in the backdrop of traditional mathematical logic. Since uncertainty is present in almost every real-world application, it is essential to develop novel approaches and tools for efficient processing. Fuzzy Techniques for Decision Making 2018
Zadeh's fuzzy set theory incorporates the impreciseness of data and evaluations, by imputting the degrees by which each object belongs to a set. Its success fostered theories that codify the subjectivity, uncertainty, imprecision, or roughness of the evaluations. Their rationale is to produce new flexible methodologies in order to model a variety of concrete decision problems more realistically. This Special Issue garners contributions addressing novel tools, techniques and methodologies for decision making (inclusive of both individual and group, single- or multi-criteria decision making) in the context of these theories. It contains 38 research articles that contribute to a variety of setups that combine fuzziness, hesitancy, roughness, covering sets, and linguistic approaches.
