    Concept Discovery and Argument Bundles in the Experience Web

    In this paper we focus on a particular interesting web user-generated content: people¿s experiences. We extend our previous work on aspect extraction and sentiment analysis and propose a novel approach to create a vocabulary of basic level concepts with the appropriate granularity to characterize a set of products. This concept vocabulary is created by analyzing the usage of the aspects over a set of reviews, and allows us to find those features with a clear positive and negative polarity to create the bundles of arguments. The argument bundles allow us to define a concept-wise satisfaction degree of a user query over a set of bundles using the notion of fuzzy implication, allowing the reuse experiences of other people to the needs a specific user. © Springer International Publishing AG 2016.This research has been partially supported by NASAID (CSIC Intramural 201550E022).Peer Reviewe

    Current e-learning standardization initiatives have put much effort into easing interoperability between systems and the reusability of contents. For this to be possible, one of the most relevant areas is the definition of a run-time environment, which allows Learning Management Systems to launch, track and communicate with learning objects. However, when dealing with intelligent content, these environments show important restrictions. In this article, we study these restrictions, comparing several standardized run-time environments with nonstandardized solutions that aim to overcome these constraints

    weSPOT: A personal and social approach to inquiry-based learning

    weSPOT is a new European initiative proposing a novel approach for personal and social inquiry-based learning in secondary and higher education. weSPOT aims at enabling students to create their mash-ups out of cloud based tools and services in order to perform scientific investigations. Students will also be able to share their inquiry accomplishments in social networks and receive feedback from the learning environment and their peers. This paper presents the research framework of the weSPOT project, as well as the initial inquiry-based learning scenarios that will be piloted by the project in real-life educational settings
