As humanidades e as ciências: disjunções e confluências

The present volume offers a selection of the essays presented at the XV Colóquio de Outono organized by the research unit Centro de Estudos Humanísticos (Universidade do Minho) in November 2013, under the global topic Humanities and Sciences: Disjunctions and Confluences. It has been the main objective of CEHUM, throughout the various Autumn Colloquia organized since 1998, to listen carefully to the “noise of the world” and attempt a global interpretation of the signs of the times issuing from the world around us, as vibrant echoes of many social and cultural pressing issues. This volume gathers the majority of the texts presented in the XV Colóquio de Outono, which the authors generously submitted for publication, and which will certainly testify of the important debate around the vast topic proposed for this year’s analysis and discussion. We hope that this new volume may give evidence of our concern, as a Research Centre within the Humanities which operates in a transdisciplinary structure, of the crucial role played by the Humanities in today’s world and the benefits of engaging in this challenging multidisciplinary dialogue. Throughout the three days of this XV Colóquio de Outono we had the privilege to listen to and debate the propositions of a vast number of national and international specialists in the manifold fields of inquiry here represented, engaging keynote speakers, project advisors, members of the different research teams and external researchers attached to the various research projects currently running in CEHUM in the fields of lit- erature, linguistics, philosophy, ethics, visual arts, cultural studies, music and performance. Our objective in this Colloquium was that each specific field of studies here represented never performed per se, but rather substantiated at a crossroads of disciplines, across borders, gaining form within the dialogue with researchers operating in a wide variety of fields, from Computer Science to Mathematics, Medicine and Psychology, Bioarts, Ecology and Ethics. For we believe that the Humanities is a plural territory which only achieves its maximum potential when engaging in a solid and permanent dialogue with other fields of research. Hence, it was not the disjunction between Humanities and Sciences we aimed to highlight throughout this Colloquium, but rather the confluence of research methods, queries, critical reflection and problematization pertaining both to Humanities and Sciences, despite the necessary expertise that identifies each field and the specificity of its target objects of research. For these lively and thought-provoking three days of the conference we wish to thank each and every one of the colleagues present, our distinct guests, as well as the research members of CEHUM, who so enthusiastically joined in the debate on the proposed topics of analysis. As TIC e a normalización lingüística na sociedade galega actual: unha aproximación á súa realidade educativa

Programa Oficial de Doutoramento en Estudos Lingüísticos e Literarios do Galego e do Portugués. 520V01[Resumo] O presente traballo pretende realizar un primeiro achegamento ás implicacións que as TIC (especialmente, Internet) teñen para as linguas dominadas, centrado no eido educativo galego. Así, despois dunha revisión do estado da cuestión (capítulo 1), realízase un achegamento á historia e características de Internet, para entender mellor as súas implicacións lingüísticas e sociais (capítulo 2). A seguir, lévase a cabo unha análise dos usos lingüísticos nas TIC no ámbito educativo a partir dos datos extraídos de 1072 blogues didácticos procedentes de centros galegos (capítulo 3). Compleméntanse estes datos cos extraídos dunha enquisa, realizada por 428 persoas procedentes da comunidade educativa, con preguntas sobre a percepción, o uso e as actitudes cara ao galego na rede (capítulo 4). No último capítulo (5) expóñense as principais conclusións e propóñense algunhas liñas de actuación tendo en conta os datos analizados.[Abstract] The purpose of this thesis is to examine the impact of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) on dominated and/or endangered languages in the context of the Galician education system, focusing in particular on the use and impact of the internet. The first chapter (1) examines the current state of research in relation to ICT and language change, before moving on in Chapter 2 to analyse the history and characteristics of the internet, and the nature and extent of its influence on language and society. Chapter 3 examines the use of Galician in ICT for educational purposes, based on a sample of 1072 educational blogs created by teachers in Galician secondary schools. Supplementary analysis of this question is provided in Chapter 4, using data obtained from a survey of 428 members of the educational community in Galicia, in relation to the use and perception of Galician in ICT and user attitudes regarding the online presence of Galician. The final chapter (5) presents a summary of the main findings of the thesis, together with a series of corrective actions to address the shortcomings detected.[Resumen] El presente trabajo pretende realizar un primer acercamiento a las implicaciones que las TIC (Tecnologías de la Información y la comunicación) -especialmente, Internet- tienen para las lenguas dominadas, centrado en el ámbito educativo gallego. Así, después de una revisión del estado de la cuestión (capítulo 1), se realiza una aproximación a la historia y características de Internet, para entender mejor sus implicaciones lingüísticas y sociales (capítulo 2). A continuación, se lleva a cabo un análisis de los usos lingüísticos en las TIC en el ámbito educativo a partir de los datos extraídos de 1072 blogs didácticos procedentes de centros gallegos (capítulo 3). Se complementan estos datos con los extraídos de una encuesta, realizada por 428 personas procedentes de la comunidad educativa, con preguntas sobre la percepción, el uso y las actitudes hacia el gallego en la red (capítulo 4). En el último capítulo (5) se exponen las principales conclusiones y se proponen algunas líneas de actuación en base a los datos analizados

Construcións verbais en galego e portugués: verbos de movemento

A tese Construcións verbais en galego e portugués: verbos de movemento foi motivada pola participación, a través dunha bolsa de colaboración, no proxecto en curso do ILG Construcións verbais e sintaxe da oración. Este iniciouse no ano 2002 e ten como obxectivo a delimitación das construcións base dos verbos galegos tanto no plano semántico coma no sintáctico na busca de crear unha ferramenta referencial no que respecta á construción da oración a partir do núcleo verbal. O referido proxecto encádrase nunha tipoloxía de traballos que dende o último terzo do século pasado xurdiron en diferentes ámbitos lingüísticos. Son programas de investigación que teñen como obxectivo esta delimitación dos esquemas argumentais sintácticosemánticos dos verbos nunha lingua concreta, sexa, por exemplo, no inglés (FrameNet), no alemán (SALSAII) ou no español (Proxecto Adesse). Nesta liña encádrase a nosa investigación. Demostramos que se pode determinar os principios que regulan a construción semántico-sintáctica dos verbos de movemento en galego e en portugués con que se pode predicir o seu funcionamento xenérico ou base
