    Three-way ordinal non symmetrical correspondence analysis for the evaluation of the patient satisfaction

    In some recent articles, emphasis has been given to the partition of the Goodman-Kruskal’s tau index using orthogonal polynomials for the study of the non symmetrical relations in three-way contingency tables. New graphical techniques that consider such a partition and allow for the analysis of asymmetric relationships have been proposed, including three-way ordinal non symmetrical correspondence analysis (Simonetti, 2003). Such a procedure takes into account the presence of an ordinal predictor and response variables. In this paper we demonstrate the applicability of such a technique for the patient satisfaction evaluation

    In 2012, a comprehensive historical and genealogical discussion of correspondence analysis was published in Australian and New Zealand Journal of Statistics. That genealogy consisted of more than 270 key books and articles and focused on an historical development of the correspondence analysis,a statistical tool which provides the analyst with a visual inspection of the association between two or more categorical variables. In this new genealogy, we provide a brief overview of over 30 variants of correspondence analysis that now exist outside of the traditional approaches used to analysethe association between two or more categorical variables. It comprises of a bibliography of a more than 300 books and articles that were not included in the 2012 bibliography and highlights the growth in the development ofcorrespondence analysis across all areas of research

The meeting will provide a forum for discussion and debate of ideas with interest to the scientific community in general.     A Characterization of Power Method Transformations through L

    Power method polynomial transformations are commonly used for simulating continuous nonnormal distributions with specified moments. However, conventional moment-based estimators can (a) be substantially biased, (b) have high variance, or (c) be influenced by outliers. In view of these concerns, a characterization of power method transformations by L-moments is introduced. Specifically, systems of equations are derived for determining coefficients for specified L-moment ratios, which are associated with standard normal and standard logistic-based polynomials of order five and three. Boundaries for L-moment ratios are also derived, and closed-formed formulae are provided for determining if a power method distribution has a valid probability density function. It is demonstrated that L-moment estimators are nearly unbiased and have relatively small variance in the context of the power method. Examples of fitting power method distributions to theoretical and empirical distributions based on the method of L-moments are also provided
