Kata Kunci: Persamaan Burgers Inviscid, metode pemisahan variabel, persamaan Navier-StokesThis study examines the solution of Burgers Inviscid equation with variable separation method. The purpose of this study was to find out the simplification of the Navier-Stokes equation system into the Burgers Inviscid equation, find a solution to the Burgers Inviscid equation with the variable separation method, and simulate equation solutions using Maple18 software. The Burgers equation emerged as a complicated simplification of the Navier-Stokes equation system. The Burgers equation is a partial differential equation of conservation law and is a hyperbolic problem, i.e. the simplest nonlinear representation of the Navier-Stokes equation. The variable separation method is one of the classic methods that is effectively used in solving partial differential equations assuming  to obtain the x and t components. Then there will be substitutions to differential equations, so that in this way there will be a partial differential equation solution. Keywords: Burgers Inviscid Equation, variable separation method, Navier-Stokes equations

The separation technique for nonlinear partial differential equations: general results and its connection with other methods

    Get PDF
This thesis is primarily a study of the separation method for solving nonlinear partial differential equations, which is a generalisation of the classical separation approach as applied to linear equations. The method is of Importance since it produces physically useful solutions, such as travelling wave and soliton solutions, to the interesting nonlinear equations of current interest in a simple and economical way. This work is also concerned with the relationships between this method and the other standard systematic methods for solving nonlinear partial differential equations. As a start In this direction, a preliminary investigation of the correspondence of separable and similarity solutions is carried out. The thesis also uses the separation technique to study the non-solvability -of equations by 1ST assuming that the Ablowitz conjecture is true. The thesis commences with a general Introduction which includes the standard systematic methods for solving nonlinear partial differential equations. Chapters two and three deal with the properties and applications of the separation technique and extend existing results. Chapters four and five use the separation technique in the Painleve test and the final chapter concerns the connection between similarity solutions and separable solutions

Nonlinear Longitudinal Waves in High Energy Stored Beams

    Get PDF
We solve the Vlasov equation for the longitudinal distribution function and find stationary wave patterns when the distribution in the energy error is Maxwellian. In the long wavelength limit a stability criterion for linear waves has been obtained, and a Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation for the relevant hydrodynamic quantities has been derived.Comment: LaTeX, 10 page

Max-plus analysis on some binary particle systems

We concern with a special class of binary cellular automata, i.e., the so-called particle cellular automata (PCA) in the present paper. We first propose max-plus expressions to PCA of 4 neighbors. Then, by utilizing basic operations of the max-plus algebra and appropriate transformations, PCA4-1, 4-2 and 4-3 are solved exactly and their general solutions are found in terms of max-plus expressions. Finally, we analyze the asymptotic behaviors of general solutions and prove the fundamental diagrams exactly.Comment: 24 pages, 5 figures, submitted to J. Phys.

Well-posedness of The Prandtl Equation in Sobolev Spaces

We develop a new approach to study the well-posedness theory of the Prandtl equation in Sobolev spaces by using a direct energy method under a monotonicity condition on the tangential velocity field instead of using the Crocco transformation. Precisely, we firstly investigate the linearized Prandtl equation in some weighted Sobolev spaces when the tangential velocity of the background state is monotonic in the normal variable. Then to cope with the loss of regularity of the perturbation with respect to the background state due to the degeneracy of the equation, we apply the Nash-Moser-Hormander iteration to obtain a well-posedness theory of classical solutions to the nonlinear Prandtl equation when the initial data is a small perturbation of a monotonic shear flow

The heat and mass transfer modeling with time delay

    Get PDF
Nonlinear hyperbolic reaction-diffusion equations with a delay in time are investigated. All equations considered here contain one arbitrary function. Exact solutions are also presented for more complex nonlinear equations in which delay arbitrarily depends on time. Exact solutions with a generalized separation of variables are found. For special cases, new exact solutions in the form of a traveling waves are obtained, some of which can be represented in terms of elementary functions. All of these solutions contain free (arbitrary) parameters, so that one can use them to solve modeling problems of heat and mass transfer with relaxation phenomena

Waltzing peakons and compacton pairs in a cross-coupled Camassa-Holm equation

We consider singular solutions of a system of two cross-coupled Camassa-Holm (CCCH) equations. This CCCH system admits peakon solutions, but it is not in the two-component CH integrable hierarchy. The system is a pair of coupled Hamiltonian partial differential equations for two types of solutions on the real line, each of which separately possesses exp(-|x|) peakon solutions with a discontinuity in the first derivative at the peak. However, there are no self-interactions, so each of the two types of peakon solutions moves only under the induced velocity of the other type. We analyse the `waltzing' solution behaviour of the cases with a single bound peakon pair (a peakon couple), as well as the over-taking collisions of peakon couples and the antisymmetric case of the head-on collision of a peakon couple and a peakon anti-couple. We then present numerical solutions of these collisions, which are inelastic because the waltzing peakon couples each possess an internal degree of freedom corresponding to their `tempo' -- that is, the period at which the two peakons of opposite type in the couple cycle around each other in phase space. Finally, we discuss compacton couple solutions of the cross-coupled Euler-Poincar\'e (CCEP) equations and illustrate the same types of collisions as for peakon couples, with triangular and parabolic compacton couples. We finish with a number of outstanding questions and challenges remaining for understanding couple dynamics of the CCCH and CCEP equations
