Impacts for m-Internet applications and perspectives in agriculture
Mobile communication and the mobile Internet can provide important opportunities,
economic advantages for enterprises end organisations and support their more efficient
operating as they can use it anytime and anywhere.
We can make their wide spread usage, innovation effect and advantages economical way if
we consider the effect system of technologies and services. The technological, social and
economical complex effect system puts pressure on spreading of business applications. The
types of applicable equipment are increasing.
There can be found four player groups according to social aspects: manufacturers, enterprises,
customers and workers. The Internet technology and the Internet network have become
essential communication tools in business processes recently. Using the Internet by means of
mobile appliances increases the possibilities.
If we study the business process the expenses, advantages, disadvantages can be seen well.
Nowadays these applications are more and more successful in the following areas such as in
agriculture, in different parts of food industry, in extension services, precision agriculture,
logistics
Attitude, aptitude, ability and autonomy: ther emergence of "off-roaders", a special class of nomadic worker
This is an electronic version of an article published in Harmer, B. M., & Pauleen, D. J. (2010). Attitude, aptitude, ability and autonomy: the emergence of âoffroadersâ, a special class of nomadic worker. Behaviour & Information Technology, 1-13. http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/0144929x.2010.489117
Behaviour & Information Technology is available online at: www.tandfonline.comFreedom to choose when, where and on what to work might be viewed as mere telework. However, when we mix the adoption of ubiquitous technologies with personalities that take pleasure in problem solving and achievement for its own sake, a strong need for autonomy, the freedom to work wherever and whenever the mood strikes, and add a dash of entrepreneurial spirit, then perhaps we are seeing an emergent class of worker, and even the possibility of new organisational forms. This research draws on adaptive structuration theory to search for evidence of a different
way of working, hidden among otherwise familiar patterns. It concludes by considering what implications the employment of such individuals might have for management processes with organisations

Towards a business model for cellular network and telecommunication operators: a theoretical framework
Cellular networks and telecommunications bring major change to the way businesses are conducted.
Mobility has become one of the main priorities for users and this has impacted on cellular networks and telecommunication operators (CNTOs). However, entrants into the cellular industry have been confounded primarily by inexistent or weak Business Models (BMs). Designing a BM for a CNTO is
complex and requires multiple actors to balance different and often conflicting design requirements. Nevertheless, most research about CNTOs has been technically oriented and has mainly addressed the technological and engineering issues related to their infrastructure. Less attention has been given to
the business model of CNTOs. Hence, there is a need to enhance our ability to determine what
constitutes the optimal and most viable business model to meet the various strategic objectives and
goals for these CNTOs. In this paper an overview of research into the cellular business model and the main issues to be resolved is provided. In particular, the authors propose guidelines as a basis on which to develop a more comprehensive definition which may lead to a consensus. Moreover, a generic model (V4 Model) is proposed for the BM of these companies based on value proposition, value architecture, value network and value finance
Evolutionary economic geography and its implications for regional innovation policy
Related variety is important to regional growth because it induces knowledge transfer between complementary sectors at the regional level. This is accomplished through three mechanisms: spinoff dynamics, labor mobility and network formation. They transfer knowledge across related sectors, which contributes to industrial renewal and economic branching in regions. Since these mechanisms of knowledge transfer are basically taking place at the regional level, and because they make regions move into new growth paths while building on their existing assets, regional innovation policy should encourage spinoff activity, labor mobility and network formation. Doing so, policy builds on region-specific assets that provides opportunities but also sets limits to what can be achieved by policy. Public intervention should neither apply Ăone-size-fits-allĂ approaches nor adopt Ăpicking-the- winnerĂ strategies, but should aim to connect complementary sectors and exploit related variety as a source of regional diversification.related variety, evolutionary economic geography, regional innovation systems, regional growth
Review of Literature and Curricula in Smart Supply Chain & Transportation
This study provides a review of existing smart supply chain management (SCM) literature and current course offerings in order to identify unexplored implications of smart SCM. Specifically, the study focuses on curricula within the state of California to derive potential opportunities for the relevant practitioners in the Bay Area. In addition, the study further extends curriculum review to other well-recognized SCM programs around the U.S. By exploring current relevant course offerings from different academic institutions for higher education (i.e., universities), this research aims to deliver general ideas useful to knowledge practitioners in fields concerning SCM. Finally, the research illustrates a conceptual framework aimed at fostering familiarity with the necessary research topics for the evolving smart SCM
Technology, governance, and a sustainability model for small and medium-sized towns in Europe
New and cutting-edge technologies causing deep changes in societies, playing the role
of game modifiers, and having a significant impact on global markets in small and medium-sized
towns in Europe (SMSTEs) are the focus of this research. In this context, an analysis was carried
out to identify the main dimensions of a model for promoting innovation in SMSTEs. The literature
review on the main dimensions boosting the innovation in SMSTEs and the methodological approach
was the application of a survey directed to experts on this issue. The findings from the literature
review reflect that technologies, governance, and sustainability dimensions are enablers of SMSTEsâ
innovation, and based on the results of the survey, a model was implemented to boost innovation,
being this the major add-on of this research.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Mobile Commerce and Applications: An Exploratory Study and Review
Mobile commerce is enabling the development of additional revenue streams for
organizations through the delivery of chargeable mobile services. According to
the European Information Technology Observatory, the total amount of revenue
generated by mobile commerce was reported to be less than {\pounds}9 million in
the United Kingdom in 2001. By 2005 this had, at least, doubled and more recent
industry forecasts project significant global growth in this area. Mobile
commerce creates a range of business opportunities and new revenue streams for
businesses across industry sectors via the deployment of innovative services,
applications and associated information content. This paper presents a review
of mobile commerce business models and their importance for the creation of
mobile commerce solutions.Comment: Journal of Computing online at

Using Technology Enabled Qualitative Research to Develop Products for the Social Good, An Overview
This paper discusses the potential benefits of the convergence of three recent trends for the design of socially beneficial products and services: the increasing application of qualitative research techniques in a wide range of disciplines, the rapid mainstreaming of social media and mobile technologies, and the emergence of software as a service. Presented is a scenario facilitating the complex data collection, analysis, storage, and reporting required for the qualitative research recommended for the task of designing relevant solutions to address needs of the underserved. A pilot study is used as a basis for describing the infrastructure and services required to realize this scenario. Implications for innovation of enhanced forms of qualitative research are presented
