A numerical scheme to solve unstable boundary value problems
A new iterative scheme for solving boundary value problems is presented. It consists of the introduction of an artificial time dependence into a modified version of the system of equations. Then explicit forward integrations in time are followed by explicit integrations backwards in time. The method converges under much more general conditions than schemes based in forward time integrations (false transient schemes). In particular it can attain a steady state solution of an elliptical system of equations even if the solution is unstable, in which case other iterative schemes fail to converge. The simplicity of its use makes it attractive for solving large systems of nonlinear equations
The Dynamical Systems Method for solving nonlinear equations with monotone operators
A review of the authors's results is given. Several methods are discussed for
solving nonlinear equations , where is a monotone operator in a
Hilbert space, and noisy data are given in place of the exact data. A
discrepancy principle for solving the equation is formulated and justified.
Various versions of the Dynamical Systems Method (DSM) for solving the equation
are formulated. These methods consist of a regularized Newton-type method, a
gradient-type method, and a simple iteration method. A priori and a posteriori
choices of stopping rules for these methods are proposed and justified.
Convergence of the solutions, obtained by these methods, to the minimal norm
solution to the equation is proved. Iterative schemes with a
posteriori choices of stopping rule corresponding to the proposed DSM are
formulated. Convergence of these iterative schemes to a solution to equation
is justified. New nonlinear differential inequalities are derived and
applied to a study of large-time behavior of solutions to evolution equations.
Discrete versions of these inequalities are established.Comment: 50p
A family of parametric schemes of arbitrary even order for solving nonlinear models
[EN] Many problems related to gas dynamics, heat transfer or chemical reactions are modeled by means of partial differential equations that usually are solved by using approximation techniques. When they are transformed in nonlinear systems of equations via a discretization process, this system is big-sized and high-order iterative methods are specially useful. In this paper, we construct a new family of parametric iterative methods with arbitrary even order, based on the extension of Ostrowski' and Chun's methods for solving nonlinear systems. Some elements of the proposed class are known methods meanwhile others are new schemes with good properties. Some numerical tests confirm the theoretical results and allow us to compare the numerical results obtained by applying new methods and known ones on academical examples. In addition, we apply one of our methods for approximating the solution of a heat conduction problem described by a parabolic partial differential equation. This research was partially supported by Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad MTM2014-52016-C02-2-P and FONDOCYT 2014-1C1-088 Republica Dominicana.Cordero Barbero, A.; Torregrosa Sánchez, JR.; Vassileva, MP. This research is supported by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. In this paper, we suggest and analyze a new family of two-step predictor corrector type iterative schemes for solving nonlinear equations in the framework of multiplicative calculus. We also discuss the convergence criteria of these newly developed iterative methods. Some numerical examples will be given to illustrate the efficiency and performance of derived methods.Publisher's Versio
Iterative schemes for finding all roots simultaneously of nonlinear equations
In this paper, we propose a procedure that can be added to any iterative scheme in order to turn it into an iterative method for approximating all roots simultaneously of any nonlinear equations. By applying this procedure to any iterative method of order p, we obtain a new scheme of order of convergence 2p. Some numerical tests allow us to confirm the theoretical results and to compare the proposed schemes with other known methods for simultaneous roots of polynomial and non-polynomial functions
Solution of Nonlinear Elliptic Boundary Value Problems and Its Iterative Construction
We study a kind of nonlinear elliptic boundary value problems with generalized
p-Laplacian operator. The unique solution is proved to be existing and the relationship between this
solution and the zero point of a suitably defined nonlinear maximal monotone operator is investigated.
Moreover, an iterative scheme is constructed to be strongly convergent to the unique solution. The
work done in this paper is meaningful since it combines the knowledge of ranges for nonlinear operators,
zero point of nonlinear operators, iterative schemes, and boundary value problems together. Some new
techniques of constructing appropriate operators and decomposing the equations are employed, which
extend and complement some of the previous work
An efficient two-parametric family with memory for nonlinear equations
A new two-parametric family of derivative-free iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations is presented. First, a new biparametric family without memory of optimal order four is proposed. The improvement of the convergence rate of this family is obtained by using two self-accelerating parameters. These varying parameters are calculated in each iterative step employing only information from the current and the previous iteration. The corresponding R-order is 7 and the efficiency index 7(1/3) = 1.913. Numerical examples and comparison with some existing derivative-free optimal eighth-order schemes are included to confirm the theoretical results. In addition, the dynamical behavior of the designed method is analyzed and shows the stability of the scheme. The second author wishes to thank the Islamic Azad University, Hamedan Branch, where the paper was written as a part of the research plan, for financial support.Cordero Barbero, A.; Lotfi, T.; Bakhtiari, P.; Torregrosa Sánchez, JR. Convergence and Stability of a Parametric Class of Iterative Schemes for Solving Nonlinear Systems
[EN] A new parametric class of iterative schemes for solving nonlinear systems is designed.
The third- or fourth-order convergence, depending on the values of the parameter being proven.
The analysis of the dynamical behavior of this class in the context of scalar nonlinear equations
is presented. This study gives us important information about the stability and reliability of the
members of the family. The numerical results obtained by applying different elements of the family
for solving the Hammerstein integral equation and the Fisher¿s equation confirm the theoretical
results. This research was supported by Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovacion y Universidades PGC2018-095896-BC22 (MCIU/AEI/FEDER, UE)Cordero Barbero, A.; Villalba, EG.; Torregrosa Sánchez, JR.; Triguero-Navarro, P. New versions of iterative splitting methods for the momentum equation
[EN] In this paper we propose some modifications in the schemes for the iterative splitting techniques defined in Geiser (2009) for partial differential equations and introduce the parallel version of these modified algorithms. Theoretical results related to the order of the iterative splitting for these schemes are obtained. In the numerical experiments we compare the obtained results by applying iterative methods to approximate the solutions of the nonlinear systems obtained from the discretization of the splitting techniques to the mixed convection-diffusion Burgers' equation and a momentum equation that models a viscous flow. The differential equations in each splitting interval are solved by the back-Euler-Newton algorithm using sparse matrices. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V.
