New Trends in Differential and Difference Equations and Applications
This is a reprint of articles from the Special Issue published online in the open-access journal Axioms (ISSN 2075-1680) from 2018 to 2019 (available at https://www.mdpi.com/journal/axioms/special issues/differential difference equations)
Differential/Difference Equations
The study of oscillatory phenomena is an important part of the theory of differential equations. Oscillations naturally occur in virtually every area of applied science including, e.g., mechanics, electrical, radio engineering, and vibrotechnics. This Special Issue includes 19 high-quality papers with original research results in theoretical research, and recent progress in the study of applied problems in science and technology. This Special Issue brought together mathematicians with physicists, engineers, as well as other scientists. Topics covered in this issue: Oscillation theory; Differential/difference equations; Partial differential equations; Dynamical systems; Fractional calculus; Delays; Mathematical modeling and oscillations
Feedback Volterra control of integro-differential equations
This paper describes a general physical background that originates integro-differential problems with specific reference to aero-elastic coupling, and offers two techniques of control for this class of problems. The central result of the paper is that integro-differential equations with kernel exponential series admit an optimal solution described, in turn, by a Volterra integral equation in terms of the control. Numerical simulations show how controls prevent the flutter instability of a two-dimensional wing and a wind turbine blade

Applied Mathematics and Fractional Calculus
In the last three decades, fractional calculus has broken into the field of mathematical analysis, both at the theoretical level and at the level of its applications. In essence, the fractional calculus theory is a mathematical analysis tool applied to the study of integrals and derivatives of arbitrary order, which unifies and generalizes the classical notions of differentiation and integration. These fractional and derivative integrals, which until not many years ago had been used in purely mathematical contexts, have been revealed as instruments with great potential to model problems in various scientific fields, such as: fluid mechanics, viscoelasticity, physics, biology, chemistry, dynamical systems, signal processing or entropy theory. Since the differential and integral operators of fractional order are nonlinear operators, fractional calculus theory provides a tool for modeling physical processes, which in many cases is more useful than classical formulations. This is why the application of fractional calculus theory has become a focus of international academic research. This Special Issue "Applied Mathematics and Fractional Calculus" has published excellent research studies in the field of applied mathematics and fractional calculus, authored by many well-known mathematicians and scientists from diverse countries worldwide such as China, USA, Canada, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Iran, Tunisia, South Africa, Albania, Thailand, Iraq, Egypt, Italy, India, Russia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Korea, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia
Large Time Behavior of Periodic Viscosity Solutions for Uniformly Parabolic Integro-Differential Equations
International audienceIn this paper, we study the large time behavior of solutions of a class of parabolic fully nonlinear integro-differential equations in a periodic setting. In order to do so, we first solve the ergodic problem}(or cell problem), i.e. we construct solutions of the form . We then prove that solutions of the Cauchy problem look like those specific solutions as time goes to infinity. We face two key difficulties to carry out this classical program: (i) the fact that we handle the case of ''mixed operators'' for which the required ellipticity comes from a combination of the properties of the local and nonlocal terms and (ii) the treatment of the superlinear case (in the gradient variable). Lipschitz estimates previously proved by the authors (2012) and Strong Maximum principles proved by the third author (2012) play a crucial role in the analysis
Long time behavior of fractional impulsive stochastic differential equations with infinite delay
This paper is first devoted to the local and global existence of mild solutions for a class of fractional impulsive stochastic differential equations with infinite delay driven by both K-valued Q-cylindrical Brownian motion and fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H ∈ (1/2, 1). A general framework which provides an effective way to prove the continuous dependence of mild solutions on initial value is established under some appropriate assumptions. Furthermore, it is also proved the exponential decay to zero of solutions to fractional stochastic impulsive differential equations with infinite delay.European Commission (EC). Fractional Differential Equations, Inclusions and Inequalities with Applications
During the last decade, there has been an increased interest in fractional differential equations, inclusions, and inequalities, as they play a fundamental role in the modeling of numerous phenomena, in particular, in physics, biomathematics, blood flow phenomena, ecology, environmental issues, viscoelasticity, aerodynamics, electrodynamics of complex medium, electrical circuits, electron-analytical chemistry, control theory, etc. This book presents collective works published in the recent Special Issue (SI) entitled "Fractional Differential Equation, Inclusions and Inequalities with Applications" of the journal Mathematics. This Special Issue presents recent developments in the theory of fractional differential equations and inequalities. Topics include but are not limited to the existence and uniqueness results for boundary value problems for different types of fractional differential equations, a variety of fractional inequalities, impulsive fractional differential equations, and applications in sciences and engineering
