Classification of MRI Brain images using GLCM, Neural Network, Fuzzy Logic & Genetic Algorithm
Detection of Brain abnormality could be a vital and crucial task in medical field. Resonance Imaging Brain image detection method offers the knowledge of the various abnormalities in Brain. This helps the doctors in treatment coming up with. Within the previous work, within the field of medical image process several scientist and soft computing techniques have totally different strategies like totally automatic and semiautomatic. During this projected technique, 2 totally different classification strategies are used along for the classification of magnetic resonance imaging Brain pictures. Those classification strategies square measure Neural Network and fuzzy logic. With this projected hybrid technique Genetic algorithmic program is employed for the optimization. Projected technique consists of various stages. Knowledge assortment through numerous hospitals or repository sites and convert original data pictures into gray scale image. Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix technique is employed for the extraction of the options from the gray scale image. Optimization technique Genetic algorithmic program is especially used for reducing the options that square measure extracted by GLCM for simple classification and reducing the convergence time or computation time. there\'s a hybrid classifier is employed for classification of magnetic resonance imaging brain pictures specifically Neural and Fuzzy classifier.

Advanced Brain Tumour Segmentation from MRI Images
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is widely used medical technology for diagnosis of various tissue abnormalities, detection of tumors. The active development in the computerized medical image segmentation has played a vital role in scientific research. This helps the doctors to take necessary treatment in an easy manner with fast decision making. Brain tumor segmentation is a hot point in the research field of Information technology with biomedical engineering. The brain tumor segmentation is motivated by assessing tumor growth, treatment responses, computer-based surgery, treatment of radiation therapy, and developing tumor growth models. Therefore, computer-aided diagnostic system is meaningful in medical treatments to reducing the workload of doctors and giving the accurate results. This chapter explains the causes, awareness of brain tumor segmentation and its classification, MRI scanning process and its operation, brain tumor classifications, and different segmentation methodologies

A novel automated system for oncological PET volume analysis is proposed in this work. The proposed intelligent system deploys two types of artificial neural networks (ANNs) for classifying PET volumes. The first methodology is a competitive neural network (CNN), whereas the second one is based on learning vector quantisation neural network (LVQNN). Furthermore, Bayesian information criterion (BIC) is used in this system to assess the optimal number of classes for each PET data set and assist the ANN blocks to achieve accurate analysis by providing the best number of classes. The system evaluation was carried out using experimental phantom studies (NEMA IEC image quality body phantom), simulated PET studies using the Zubal phantom, and clinical studies representative of nonsmall cell lung cancer and pharyngolaryngeal squamous cell carcinoma. The proposed analysis methodology of clinical oncological PET data has shown promising results and can successfully classify and quantify malignant lesions. This study was supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation under Grant SNSF 31003A-125246, Geneva Cancer League, and the Indo Swiss Joint Research Programme ISJRP 138866. Improving statistics for hybrid segmentation of high-resolution multichannel images
High-resolution multichannel textures are difficult to characterize with simple statistics and the high level of detail makes the selection of a particular contour using classical gradient-based methods not effective. We have developed a hybrid method that combines fuzzy connectedness and Voronoi diagram classification for the segmentation of color and multichannel objects. The multi-step classification process relies on homogeneity measures derived from moment statistics and histogram information. These color features have been optimized to best combine individual channel information in the classification process. The segmentation initialization requires only a set of interior and exterior seed points, minimizing user intervention and the influence of the initialization on the overall quality of the results. The method was tested on volumes from the Visible Human and on brain multi-protocol MRI data sets. The hybrid segmentation produced robust, rapid and finely detailed contours with good visual accuracy. The addition of quantized statistics and color histogram distances as classification features improved the robustness of the method with regards to initialization when compared to our original implementation
