Size fitting problem is a main obstacle to large scale online garment sales. It is the difficult to customers to find the fit garments when they couldn’t try on. In this paper, we present an algorithm base on wavelet neural network to help customer choosing their clothing specifications automatically. After the reasonable wavelet function is selected, we established the model structure and the initial parameters. The wavelet neural network is trained by the body measures and the result of AHP algorithm after normalization. The new data are used to test the network. As a result, the error from wavelet neural network is smaller, and the prediction accuracy is proved than that from the algorithm based on traditional BP network

    Assembly Line

An assembly line is a manufacturing process in which parts are added to a product in a sequential manner using optimally planned logistics to create a finished product in the fastest possible way. It is a flow-oriented production system where the productive units performing the operations, referred to as stations, are aligned in a serial manner. The present edited book is a collection of 12 chapters written by experts and well-known professionals of the field. The volume is organized in three parts according to the last research works in assembly line subject. The first part of the book is devoted to the assembly line balancing problem. It includes chapters dealing with different problems of ALBP. In the second part of the book some optimization problems in assembly line structure are considered. In many situations there are several contradictory goals that have to be satisfied simultaneously. The third part of the book deals with testing problems in assembly line. This section gives an overview on new trends, techniques and methodologies for testing the quality of a product at the end of the assembling line

Congratulations to Institute of Graduate Studies on the continuous efforts to publish the 6th issue of the Doctoral Research Abstracts which ranged from the discipline of science and technology, business and administration to social science and humanities. This issue captures the novelty of research from 52 PhD doctorates receiving their scrolls in the UiTM’s 81st Convocation. This convocation is very significant especially for UiTM since we are celebrating the success of 52 PhD graduands – the highest number ever conferred at any one time. To the 52 doctorates, I would like it to be known that you have most certainly done UiTM proud by journeying through the scholastic path with its endless challenges and impediments, and by persevering right till the very end. This convocation should not be regarded as the end of your highest scholarly achievement and contribution to the body of knowledge but rather as the beginning of embarking into more innovative research from knowledge gained during this academic journey, for the community and country. As alumni of UiTM, we hold you dear to our hearts. The relationship that was once between a student and supervisor has now matured into comrades, forging and exploring together beyond the frontier of knowledge. We wish you all the best in your endeavour and may I offer my congratulations to all the graduands. ‘UiTM sentiasa dihati ku’ Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Prof Ir Dr Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar , FASc, PEng Vice Chancellor Universiti Teknologi MAR

Interpretive structural model of key performance indicators for sustainable manufacturing evaluation in automotive companies

    Get PDF
This paper aims to analyze the interrelationships among the key performance indicators of sustainable manufacturing evaluation in automotive companies. The initial key performance indicators have been identified and derived from literature and were then validated by industry survey. Interpretive structural modeling (ISM) methodology is applied to develop a hierarchical structure of the key performance indicators in three levels. Of nine indicators, there are five unstable indicators which have both high driver and dependence power, thus requiring further attention. It is believed that the model can provide a better insight for automotive managers in assessing their sustainable manufacturing performance

Tracking the Temporal-Evolution of Supernova Bubbles in Numerical Simulations

The study of low-dimensional, noisy manifolds embedded in a higher dimensional space has been extremely useful in many applications, from the chemical analysis of multi-phase flows to simulations of galactic mergers. Building a probabilistic model of the manifolds has helped in describing their essential properties and how they vary in space. However, when the manifold is evolving through time, a joint spatio-temporal modelling is needed, in order to fully comprehend its nature. We propose a first-order Markovian process that propagates the spatial probabilistic model of a manifold at fixed time, to its adjacent temporal stages. The proposed methodology is demonstrated using a particle simulation of an interacting dwarf galaxy to describe the evolution of a cavity generated by a Supernov

The reported research into the influence of a database on the processes of universal design formation has established a mechanism for the interactive application of clusters of size-based attributes. It has been proven that the typological series of a structural size characterizes a conditional standard body figure of the youth type. This has made it possible to determine the mobility of structural zones in accordance with the morphological features of a body structure at the stages of forming the base for a design. Our experimental study has confirmed that the boundaries of functional sections in the grouping of structural zones are governed by the variability of gains by the basic structural points. That leads to the poly-variance of the pelvic section when forming properties for the proportionality of trousers. Specifically, it has been established that due to identifying the similarity of structures based on a scaling ratio, the adequacy of a database is improved by coordinating the information base for constructing structural zones. This allows us to assert the reliability of the mechanism that forms clusters within an anthropometric database, as well as practical attractiveness of the proposed interactive design technology. It has been shown that the variance in gains ensures decomposition of the closed contour of a part at the points of change in functional sections, which is the advantage of the current research. We have shown the prospects for extending the range of morphological types based on the age-trait biodynamics of functional movements. Thus, there are grounds to assert the possibility of targeted control over the processes that form a universal design by employing an integrated database that combines the clusters of size-based attributes, gains, as well as a structural zones nomenclatureПроведенными исследованиями влияния базы данных на процессы формирования универсальной конструкции установлен механизм интерактивного применения кластеров размерных признаков.
