    Eclipse Parallel Tools Platform (PTP)

    Get PDF
The Eclipse Parallel Tools Platform (PTP) combines tools for coding, static analysis, revision control, refactoring, debugging, job submission, and more, into a best-practice integrated environment for increasing developer productivity. Leveraging the successful open-source Eclipse platform, PTP helps manage the complexity of scientific code development and optimization on diverse platforms including systems managed by LoadLeveler, Torque or LSF, and provides tools to gain insights into complex code that is otherwise difficult to attain. This talk gives a brief overview of PTP's functionality for supporting the development of parallel applications. Its main components are presented by giving a demonstration on how to apply PTP for coding parallel codes, job submission and monitoring the supercomputer status. The system monitoring is based on the monitoring application LLview developed by the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC). In order to illustrate the development process of PTP's system monitoring as a set of Eclipse Plug-Ins an introduction to the development of Eclipse Plug-Ins is given, which allows for extending any part of Eclipse with new functionality

Design of Real Time Heart Rate Monitoring System With ARDUINO UNO R3 Based on Android Application

The heart is an important organ for humans. Heart disease has claimed many lives. It happened because not everyone can do regular heart checks. High cost and time wasted could be the reason. Even a lot of heart disease is detected when a disease was so severe that treatment be late. Though the heart is the organ that affects other organs, in other words, the good performance of the heart as the source of much-needed work of other organs. One of the things that can be done is to check regularly to determine the condition of the heart through a number of heartbeats per minute. By knowing the condition of the heart then anyone can change the pattern of life and maintain food intake better, so that the heart will change to a more healthy condition. Therefore the heart rate monitoring system application to be made. Only by writing gender and age, everyone can use it and do not have to wait for a medical expert. The application can determine the condition of the heart in good condition, weak or bad through the calculation of the number of heartbeats using easy way, so that they can consult with medical experts and of course heart health can be maintained without taking expensive and complicated way, simply by changing lifestyle and exercise regularly. This application runs on Android based smartphones that connected to ARDUINO UNO R3 modul to detect heart rate. Keywords-heart rate; heart condition; android; arduin

GRAIL – Grid Access and Instrumentation Tool

    Get PDF
Since the release of Globus Toolkit 4 Web services enrich the world of Grid Computing. They provide methods to develop modular Grid applications which can be parallelized easily. The access to Web services is mostly solved by complex command line tools which need a good deal of knowledge of the underlaying Grid technologies. GRAIL is intended to fill the gap between existing Grid access methods and both the developer who wants to utilize the Grid for own developments and the user who wants to access the Grid without much additional knowledge. It simplifies the access and the testing of Web services for the Globus Grid middleware. GRAIL provides an easy to use graphical user interface for executing Web services and enables the user to construct complex relationships between services to realize parallel execution. The underlying framework allows an easy integration of any Web service or other arbitrary task without much additional effort for the developer. Existing technologies, shipped with the Globus Toolkit, are seamlessly integrated into GRAIL

Model-driven Engineering IDE for Quality Assessment of Data-intensive Applications

This article introduces a model-driven engineering (MDE) integrated development environment (IDE) for Data-Intensive Cloud Applications (DIA) with iterative quality enhancements. As part of the H2020 DICE project (ICT-9-2014, id 644869), a framework is being constructed and it is composed of a set of tools developed to support a new MDE methodology. One of these tools is the IDE which acts as the front-end of the methodology and plays a pivotal role in integrating the other tools of the framework. The IDE enables designers to produce from the architectural structure of the general application along with their properties and QoS/QoD annotations up to the deployment model. Administrators, quality assurance engineers or software architects may also run and examine the output of the design and analysis tools in addition to the designer in order to assess the DIA quality in an iterative process
