Modeling Virtual Organization Architecture with the Virtual Organization Breeding Methodology
While Enterprise Architecture Modeling (EAM) methodologies become more and
more popular, an EAM methodology tailored to the needs of virtual organizations
(VO) is still to be developed. Among the most popular EAM methodologies, TOGAF
has been chosen as the basis for a new EAM methodology taking into account
characteristics of VOs presented in this paper. In this new methodology,
referred as Virtual Organization Breeding Methodology (VOBM), concepts
developed within the ECOLEAD project, e.g. the concept of Virtual Breeding
Environment (VBE) or the VO creation schema, serve as fundamental elements for
development of VOBM. VOBM is a generic methodology that should be adapted to a
given VBE. VOBM defines the structure of VBE and VO architectures in a
service-oriented environment, as well as an architecture development method for
virtual organizations (ADM4VO). Finally, a preliminary set of tools and methods
for VOBM is given in this paper.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure
A formal verification framework and associated tools for enterprise modeling : application to UEML
The aim of this paper is to propose and apply a verification and validation approach to Enterprise Modeling that enables the user to improve the relevance and correctness, the suitability and coherence of a model by using properties specification and formal proof of properties
Decision Support Tools for Cloud Migration in the Enterprise
This paper describes two tools that aim to support decision making during the
migration of IT systems to the cloud. The first is a modeling tool that
produces cost estimates of using public IaaS clouds. The tool enables IT
architects to model their applications, data and infrastructure requirements in
addition to their computational resource usage patterns. The tool can be used
to compare the cost of different cloud providers, deployment options and usage
scenarios. The second tool is a spreadsheet that outlines the benefits and
risks of using IaaS clouds from an enterprise perspective; this tool provides a
starting point for risk assessment. Two case studies were used to evaluate the
tools. The tools were useful as they informed decision makers about the costs,
benefits and risks of using the cloud.Comment: To appear in IEEE CLOUD 201
Philosophy of Blockchain Technology - Ontologies
About the necessity and usefulness of developing a philosophy specific to the blockchain technology, emphasizing on the ontological aspects. After an Introduction that highlights the main philosophical directions for this emerging technology, in Blockchain Technology I explain the way the blockchain works, discussing ontological development directions of this technology in Designing and Modeling. The next section is dedicated to the main application of blockchain technology, Bitcoin, with the social implications of this cryptocurrency. There follows a section of Philosophy in which I identify the blockchain technology with the concept of heterotopia developed by Michel Foucault and I interpret it in the light of the notational technology developed by Nelson Goodman as a notational system. In the Ontology section, I present two developmental paths that I consider important: Narrative Ontology, based on the idea of order and structure of history transmitted through Paul Ricoeur's narrative history, and the Enterprise Ontology system based on concepts and models of an enterprise, specific to the semantic web, and which I consider to be the most well developed and which will probably become the formal ontological system, at least in terms of the economic and legal aspects of blockchain technology. In Conclusions I am talking about the future directions of developing the blockchain technology philosophy in general as an explanatory and robust theory from a phenomenologically consistent point of view, which allows testability and ontologies in particular, arguing for the need of a global adoption of an ontological system for develop cross-cutting solutions and to make this technology profitable.

Eco Global Evaluation: Cross Benefits of Economic and Ecological Evaluation
This paper highlights the complementarities of cost and environmental evaluation in a sustainable approach. Starting with the needs and limits for whole product lifecycle evaluation, this paper begins with the modeling, data capture and performance indicator aspects. In a second step, the information issue, regarding the whole lifecycle of the product is addressed. In order to go further than the economical evaluations/assessment, the value concept (for a product or a service) is discussed. Value could combine functional requirements, cost objectives and environmental impact. Finally, knowledge issues which address the complexity of integrating multi-disciplinary expertise to the whole lifecycle of a product are discussing.EcoSD NetworkEcoSD networ
Business Process Innovation using the Process Innovation Laboratory
Most organizations today are required not only to establish effective business processes but they are required to accommodate for changing business conditions at an increasing rate. Many business processes extend beyond the boundary of the enterprise into the supply chain and the information infrastructure therefore is critical. Today nearly every business relies on their Enterprise System (ES) for process integration and the future generations of enterprise systems will increasingly be driven by business process models. Consequently process modeling and improvement will become vital for business process innovation (BPI) in future organizations. There is a significant body of knowledge on various aspect of process innovation, e.g. on conceptual modeling, business processes, supply chains and enterprise systems. Still an overall comprehensive and consistent theoretical framework with guidelines for practical applications has not been identified. The aim of this paper is to establish a conceptual framework for business process innovation in the supply chain based on advanced enterprise systems. The main approach to business process innovation in this context is to create a new methodology for exploring process models and patterns of applications. The paper thus presents a new concept for business process innovation called the process innovation laboratory a.k.a. the Ð-Lab. The Ð-Lab is a comprehensive framework for BPI using advanced enterprise systems. The Ð-Lab is a collaborative workspace for experimenting with process models and an explorative approach to study integrated modeling in a controlled environment. The Ð-Lab facilitates innovation by using an integrated action learning approach to process modeling including contemporary technological, organizational and business perspectivesNo; keywords
