This study aimed to investigate the familiarity of librarians and users of the Central Library of Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch of Tehran with Web 2.0, Library 2.0 and Librarian 2.0 and the use of mobile messaging applications. Another goal of this study was to provide practical solutions for using applications to provide library services. In essence, this study was an applied research and it was conducted with a survey approach. The population was consisted of librarians and users of the Central Library of Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch in Tehran. An electronic questionnaire was prepared for data collection and data analysis was performed using SPSS software. The findings indicated that librarians and library users were more familiar with Web 2.0 applications than Librarian 2.0 and Library 2.0. The frequency of librarians and users\u27 responsiveness to use the mobile messenger applications was quite high, respectively, 0.35 and 0 .40. In both groups, the use of mobile messaging applications was moderate. Library users also agreed on providing a variety of virtual social media services in the library. The analyses of this study on services offered by libraries using mobile messaging applications would make libraries adopt new technologies and move towards changes in the new era

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of using mobile phone applications in virtual laboratories on academic achievement in chemistry for students of the Department of Chemistry, In Faculty of Education, University of Omdurman Islamic. To achieve this, the study followed the semi-experimental and descriptive approaches, and the research community consisted of third-level students in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Education, Omdurman Islamic University and members of the teaching staff in the faculties of education at Omdurman Islamic University, the University of Khartoum and the Open University of Sudan, a sample of 40 third-level students representing 50% of the original population was randomly selected, and they were divided into two equal groups: an experimental group of 20 students and a control group of 20 students A sample of (15) faculty members. The researchers used the achievement test as a tool for data collection, using the appropriate methods of analysis, the data was analyzed by using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study concluded a set of results, the most important of which are: There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group that studied using the mobile phone in the virtual laboratories and the average scores of the control group that studied in the usual way at the levels of analysis and synthesis among the third-level students in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Education, Omdurman Islamic University, The results of the interview also showed that the mobile phone is effective and suitable in the educational process because of the programs it provides that support the educational process in all its aspects. Based on these results. The researchers recommended holding courses to train science teachers on the use of these programs in implementing laboratory activities in science curricula

Investigation into Mobile Learning Framework in Cloud Computing Platform

Abstract—Cloud computing infrastructure is increasingly used for distributed applications. Mobile learning applications deployed in the cloud are a new research direction. The applications require specific development approaches for effective and reliable communication. This paper proposes an interdisciplinary approach for design and development of mobile applications in the cloud. The approach includes front service toolkit and backend service toolkit. The front service toolkit packages data and sends it to a backend deployed in a cloud computing platform. The backend service toolkit manages rules and workflow, and then transmits required results to the front service toolkit. To further show feasibility of the approach, the paper introduces a case study and shows its performance
