Indonesia is one of the countries affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Positive confirmed patients in Indonesia are increasing every day. The people became restless and worried because of this outbreak. Website becomes one of the media used in conveying information on the spread of COVID-19. However, the website has several weaknesses in its use such as, appearance that is too complicated, writing that is not clearly readable, there is no data update in real time, and unusual menu choices. The official website established by the West Java government in tackling the spread of COVID-19 is pikobar.jabarprov.go.id or known as The Information and Coordination Center of COVID-19 website in West Java Province (PIKOBAR). To minimize the weaknesses and the level of website usability that occurs, the PIKOBAR website needs evaluation and update. The evaluation carried out aims to make the website run well, so that it can provide up-to-date and real-time information to the public. In this study the evaluation of the PIKOBAR website is done by measuring and testing the appearance of usability using the System Usability Scale (SUS) instrument. A survey by the Pew Research Center (2011) found 55% of American adults rely on the Internet as a primary source of information for restaurants and local businesses, with its ability to quickly sort and personalize data such as what cafĂ©s nearby might be widely praised and patronized by online peers. As the Internet becomes prevalent throughout the consumer’s purchasing journey, website usability is crucial for the survival of local businesses with online presence. The purpose of this usability study was to evaluate an optimized website for a local and independent coffee business known as The Curb (http://thecurbco.com). With the affordance of web analytics to capture customer information, three website design iterations were created for optimized landing pages. An open-source web tool known as SurveyMonkey was instrumental in creating and distributing anonymous pre- and post-surveys to six participants. They were asked to complete a series of task scenarios using the “thinking aloud” method while their computer screen and audio were recorded for quantitative and qualitative analysis. Usability metrics were defined by the ISO 9241-11 standard providing guidance on measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. The results identified usability issues with the website’s navigational menu, suggesting further design iterations to optimize and improve The Curb’s website usability

AbstractIn this competitive world, websites are considered to be a key aspect of any organization’s competitiveness. In addition to visual esthetics, usability of a website is a strong determinant for user’s satisfaction and pleasure. However, lack of appropriate techniques and attributes for measuring usability may constrain the usefulness of a website. To address this issue, we conduct a statistical study to evaluate the usability and accessibility levels of three popular academic websites based on human (user) perception. Two types of usability evaluation techniques were employed in this study. First one is Questionnaire-based evaluation and second one is performance-based evaluation. Usability assessment was performed by analyzing the results from the observed task success rates, task completion times, post-task satisfaction ratings and feedback. We also investigate the possibility of there being any impact of task completion times on participant’s satisfaction levels. The results of the questionnaire based evaluation were observed to be consistent with the results of performance-based evaluation. Accessibility evaluation was carried out by testing the degree of compliance of the web pages as per WCAG 2.0 guidelines

Nowadays, companies often find it difficult to predict consumers’ needs and requirements and have been looking for ways to quantify customers’ impression on their products. Kansei Engineering (KE) is a method originated from Japan that could be used in achieving the companies’ goal. This method is often used in humanoriented product development to generate products with improved economic value. In this study, Kansei Engineering is applied in website development. This study reveals that e-government websites in Malaysia have lower usability values among the others website domains. There is a significant potential of improving the usability value of the e-Government job portals by implementing a effective usability testing methodology on them. This study aimed to use usability as a testing method by applying Kansei Engineering in the evaluation of e-Government job portals in Malaysia. This study proposes to improve the quality of job-seeking website managed by Malaysia government by measuring the user experience of the website users. The research is aimed to address the dominant factors that affect the impression of a user on the website as well as to compare the design elements of other sample job-seeking websites. Methodologies devised from the investigation are based on proven and existing approaches by other researchers of the same field. Thus, recommendations obtained and analysis of the results shall be useful to guide the improvement of existing job portals to better serve the good cause of its existence

There is a continuing need for quality eCommerce websites which satisfy their owner’s perspective of quality of design and visitor’s perspective of quality of use. More particularly there is a need for website owners to be able to specify what constitutes a website that will fully engage site visitors and consequently what needs to be designed into the website in order to insure return on investment. This paper argues that the term usability is inappropriate to quality websites and that website engagibility is a step beyond usability. The paper reports continuing research which seeks to identify the requirements of website engagibility, and to provide a mathematical solution for measuring and comparing website performance. The research relies on the Software Quality Star to provide an end-to-end conceptual model for studying website quality. In particular it focuses on the potential of a website’s design to support the engagibility of visitors. Using a comprehensive set of Quality-of-product criteria and counts for a set of eCommerce websites the paper explains how a ratio value can be calculated for a website. These metrics specifically avoid reliance on website traffic data and visitor statistics and the study concerns itself with website structure and design criteria. The approach is influenced by assessment and predictive measurement theory. Then, using Metric Ratio Analysis the paper shows how website engagibility performance ratings can be determined

One of the influential learning resources utilized today is a web-based learning management system. The web-based e-learning’s usability is also influenced by the user interface. In measuring usability, eye-tracking technology can be employed to examine eye gaze of an individual when looks at a specific point at a certain time. The use of eye-tracking is beneficial in obtaining objective data. This study aims to evaluate the usability of UAJY Learning Management System website interface and examine the user's interaction with the website interface. Thirty-five participants were recruited in a usability testing experiment. Participants were asked to do three tasks related to the use of e-learning features while their eye movements were recorded. The USE Questionnaire and task-related question data were processed using statistical descriptive methods and eye movement data generated into heatmaps. The Usefulness, Ease of Use, Ease of Learn, and Satisfaction aspects of the UAJY LMS gains more than 80% feasibility percentage. Overall results of feasibility categorized the UAJY LMS as Very Feasible. There was no difference found in usability aspects between gender, faculty background, and eye condition groups. Heatmaps results show that navigational elements in the LMS are utilized properly and successfully help participants in performing tasks
