    WEB-SERVQUAL: a measure of information systems service quality for the web environment

    The research investigated the suitability of the SERVQUAL instrument, extensively used in marketing and selectively used to measure service quality of traditional Information Systems (IS) function, to measure IS service quality in the web environment. The website of a university’s library provided the context in which SERVQUAL was applied. From a focus group meeting of study participants, conducted subsequent to the survey, emerged additions and changes required in designing a web-oriented SERVQUAL (WEB-SERVQUAL) questionnaire. These included the addition of two key dimensions in the form of web strategy and managing customer expectations. Other SERVQUAL dimensions, such as IS reliability and IS responsiveness, had to be modified since the Webmaster, and not just the IS function, plays a significant role in providing service to a website. The study produced a high level WEB-SERVQUAL questionnaire that provides the basis for empirical testing and refinement in subsequent research

    Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the process of generating and managing building data during its life cycle. Typically it uses three-dimensional, real-time, dynamic building modeling software to increase productivity in building design and construction. The process produces the Building Information Model, which encompasses building geometry, spatial relationships, geographic information, quantities and properties of building components. On the other hand, Green Building Index (GBI) as the localized sustainability building rating system in Malaysia assesses the impact of building on environment based on energy efficiency, indoor environment quality, sustainable site & management, materials & resources, water efficiency and innovation. By integrating GBI assessment criteria with BIM technology, this research proposes a comparative case study analysis of Residential New Construction (RNC) and Non-Residential New Construction (NRNC) based on the Autodesk Ecotect Analysis software (a comprehensive, concept-to-detail sustainable design analysis tool that provides a wide range of simulation and analysis functionality through desktop and web-service platforms) and Autodesk Green Building Studio (A web-based energy analysis service which performs whole building analysis, optimizes energy efficiency, and works toward carbon neutrality earlier in the design process) to investigate the influence of construction material on energy consumption, lifecycle energy cost and carbon emission

    This paper deals with the sign up issue in social networks populated with Web services. These social networks can be used for example, to ease the discovery of Web services. Based on Web services\u27 functionalities three social networks are built: competition, substitution, and collaboration. In competition and substitution social networks, Web services offer homogeneous functionalities. In the collaboration social network, Web services that offer heterogeneous functionalities. In this latter type, Web services can be put together to develop composite services. Prior to joining a social network, a Web service through a third-party, named social Web service, should evaluate the pros and cons of being member in this network. A set of quality criteria for assessing these pros and cons are proposed. These criteria are, but not limited to, privacy, trust, fairness, and traceability. Policies for managing the sign up are, also, provided in this paper. The adoption and effi ciency of these policies are monitored and assessed with respect to the values that these criteria take. In response to this sign up\u27s outcomes, these policies are fine-tuned

    Parlay X Web Services for Policy and Charging Control in Multimedia Networks

    The paper investigates the capabilities of Parlay X Web Services for Policy and Charging Control (PCC) in managing all Internet-protocol-based multimedia networks (IMSs). PCC is one of the core features of evolved packet networks. It comprises flow-based charging including charging control and online credit control, gating control, and Quality of Service (QoS) control. Based on the analysis of requirements for PCC, the functionality for open access to QoS management and advanced charging is identified. Parlay X Web Services are evaluated for the support of PCC, and some enhancements are suggested. Implementation aspects are discussed, and Parlay X interfaces are mapped onto IMS control protocols. Use cases of Parlay X Web Services for PCC are presented

    Shifting the paradigm from traditional business-oriented products into customer-oriented lead Service Quality (quality of service) become an absolute necessity for a company to realize customer satisfaction. The rapid development of information technology led to the company switched to eService to utilize the website to manage the service to the customer. So as to achieve maximum results in managing relationships with customers, the company must be able to capture the needs of customers in online transactions via the web and receive evaluations from customers to improve service quality. This study aims to analyze the effect of jointly or individually between the variable efficiency, fulfillment, system availability, and privacy of the eSatisfaction. Documentation and data collection using a questionnaire distributed to 78 customers, PT. Danareksa Securities Branch UIN Maliki active online trading using D'ONE application independently (without the help of a broker). Multiple linear regression analysis used in this study. Results from this study indicate that the variable Efficiency, Fulfillment, System availability, and Privacy jointly and individually have a significant influence on eSatisfaction

    The difficulty in managing the data of books collection in the library is a problem that is often faced by the librarian that effect the quality of service. Arrangement and recording a collection of books in the file system of separate applications Word and Excel, as well as transaction handling borrowing and returning books, therehas been no integrated records. Library system can manage the book collection. This system can reduce the problems often experienced by library staff when serving students in borrowing books. There so frequent difficulty in managing the books that still in borrowed state. This system will also record a collection of late fees or lost library conducted by students (borrowers). The conclusion of this study is library performance can be better with the library system using web database

    Metrics suite for maintainability of eXtensible Markup Language web services

    The eXtensible Markup Language (XML) web services are emerging as the de-facto mechanism for exchanging structured information between applications. The large popularity and acceptance of web services led the developers to adopt the best practices of web service implementation and to find the ways for managing and maintaining web services more effectively. Maintainability, one of the important factors, which affects the quality of XML web services, can be controlled by the proper software metrics that are specifically designed and developed for it. In this paper, we present a suite of metrics to evaluate the quality of the XML web service in terms of its maintainability. The present suite of metrics includes: data weight of a web service description language, distinct message ratio metric, message entropy metric and message repetition scale metric. All the proposed metrics have been evaluated theoretically and validated empirically. A comparative study with similar measures proves the worth of the metric suite

    Towards a Cloud-Based Service for Maintaining and Analyzing Data About Scientific Events

    We propose the new cloud-based service OpenResearch for managing and analyzing data about scientific events such as conferences and workshops in a persistent and reliable way. This includes data about scientific articles, participants, acceptance rates, submission numbers, impact values as well as organizational details such as program committees, chairs, fees and sponsors. OpenResearch is a centralized repository for scientific events and supports researchers in collecting, organizing, sharing and disseminating information about scientific events in a structured way. An additional feature currently under development is the possibility to archive web pages along with the extracted semantic data in order to lift the burden of maintaining new and old conference web sites from public research institutions. However, the main advantage is that this cloud-based repository enables a comprehensive analysis of conference data. Based on extracted semantic data, it is possible to determine quality estimations, scientific communities, research trends as well the development of acceptance rates, fees, and number of participants in a continuous way complemented by projections into the future. Furthermore, data about research articles can be systematically explored using a content-based analysis as well as citation linkage. All data maintained in this crowd-sourcing platform is made freely available through an open SPARQL endpoint, which allows for analytical queries in a flexible and user-defined way.Comment: A completed version of this paper had been accepted in SAVE-SD workshop 2017 at WWW conferenc
