A Risk Management Process for Consumers
Simply by using information technology, consumers expose themselves to considerable security risks. Because no technical or legal solutions are readily available, the only remedy is to develop a risk management process for consumers, similar to the process executed by enterprises. Consumers need to consider the risks in a structured way, and take action, not once, but iteratively. Such a process is feasible: enterprises already execute such processes, and time-saving tools can support the consumer in her own process. In fact, given our society's emphasis on individual responsibilities, skills and devices, a risk management process for consumers is the logical next step in improving information security
The H.E.S.S. central data acquisition system
The High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.) is a system of Imaging
Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes (IACTs) located in the Khomas Highland in
Namibia. It measures cosmic gamma rays of very high energies (VHE; >100 GeV)
using the Earth's atmosphere as a calorimeter. The H.E.S.S. Array entered Phase
II in September 2012 with the inauguration of a fifth telescope that is larger
and more complex than the other four. This paper will give an overview of the
current H.E.S.S. central data acquisition (DAQ) system with particular emphasis
on the upgrades made to integrate the fifth telescope into the array. At first,
the various requirements for the central DAQ are discussed then the general
design principles employed to fulfil these requirements are described. Finally,
the performance, stability and reliability of the H.E.S.S. central DAQ are
presented. One of the major accomplishments is that less than 0.8% of

FORM version 4.0
We present version 4.0 of the symbolic manipulation system FORM. The most
important new features are manipulation of rational polynomials and the
factorization of expressions. Many other new functions and commands are also
added; some of them are very general, while others are designed for building
specific high level packages, such as one for Groebner bases. New is also the
checkpoint facility, that allows for periodic backups during long calculations.
Lastly, FORM 4.0 has become available as open source under the GNU General

OEDIPUS: Onium Evolution, Dipole Interaction and Perturbative Unitarisation Simulation
A Monte Carlo simulation program is presented which can be used to determine
the small- evolution of a heavy onium using Mueller's colour dipole
formulation, giving the full distribution of dipoles in rapidity and impact
parameter. Routines are also provided which calculate onium-onium scattering
amplitudes between individual pairs of onium configurations, making it possible
to establish the contribution of multiple pomeron exchange terms to onium-onium

The mass digitisation of analogue archive holdings plus the transition to tapeless production for new content means AV archives inevitably face the prospect of file-based archiving solutions using IT storage technology. But what is the long-term Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of these systems, which file formats should be used, what storage technologies make sense, what are the risks involved, what is the additional cost of managing these risks, and what new software approaches can be applied?
