This paper analyzes a spam rejection scheme at Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) sessions. This scheme utilizes a layer-3 e-mail pre-classification technique to estimate e-mail classes before an SMTP session ends. We study the spam rejection scheme using discrete-time Markov chain analysis and analyze the performance of the proposed scheme under different e-mail traffic loads and service capacities. The proposed scheme reduces the e-mail volume to be queued and processed by e-mail servers. This reduces non-spam e-mail queuing delay and loss, and protects e-mail servers from being overloaded by spam traffic

Typechecking protocols with Mungo and StMungo: a session type toolchain for Java

Static typechecking is an important feature of many standard programming languages. However, static typing focuses on data rather than communication, and therefore does not help programmers correctly implement communication protocols in distributed systems. The theory of session types provides a basis for tackling this problem; we use it to develop two tools that support static typechecking of communication protocols in Java. The first tool, Mungo, extends Java with typestate definitions, which allow classes to be associated with state machines defining permitted sequences of method calls: for example, communication methods. The second tool, StMungo, takes a session type describing a communication protocol, and generates a typestate specification of the permitted sequences of messages in the protocol. Protocol implementations can be validated by Mungo against their typestate definitions and then compiled with a standard Java compiler. The result is a toolchain for static typechecking of communication protocols in Java. We formalise and prove soundness of the typestate inference system used by Mungo, and show that our toolchain can be used to typecheck a client for the standard Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)

In the recent virtual communication world, the email services play a vital role as a basic content of heterogeneous networking infrastructure. Whereby, multiple platforms are connecting each other. Mail Server refers to computer performing Mail Transfer Agent functions. MTA is software that delivers electronic mail messages from one computer to another, by using client-server application architecture. MTA implements both sender and receiver portions of SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). Postfix is a free and open-source MTA which is fast, easy-to-administrator and provide secure communication over Internet. In this paper we focus on the problem of email contents disclosure, and establish a secure mail server by using Postfix in Linux platform and then implement it into a cloud service provider as IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service). Security is provided by tuning a Transport Layer Security (TLS), and SMTP-AUTH which use Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) as a security mechanism and platform

A Practical Study of E-mail Communication through SMTP

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is an application layer protocol for e-mail communication. It has been adopted as a standard by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). SMTP has set conversational and grammatical rules for exchanging messages between connected computers. It has evolved through several revisions and extensions since its formation by Jon Postel in 1981. In SMTP, the sender establishes a full-duplex transmission channel with a receiver. The receiver may be either the ultimate destination or an intermediate forwarding agent. SMTP commands are issued by the sender and are sent to the receiver, which responds to these commands through codes. Each SMTP session between the sender and the receiver consists of three phases namely: connection establishment, mail transactions and connection termination. This paper describes and illustrates the process of e-mail communication through SMTP by issuing the individual SMTP commands directly to transmit e-mail messages. It also describes individual SMTP commands and extensions with practical implementation using a Telnet client

Camera recorders in general will continue to record continuously without stopping and this will take up storage space. This is deemed less effective because of its limited capacity and also in terms of security, the recorded information is very vulnerable. Therefore, in this study, a portable recording camera system was designed using multi sensors and integrated raspberrypi with the server and then the recording results will automatically be sent to the server and forwarded to the user's email. This portable recording system uses a PIR sensor (Passive Infrared Receiver) HC-SR501, Raspberry Pi 3 B plus, Infrared led light, Pi camera, KY-037 sound sensor, SMTP Server (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). When the PIR sensor detects movement or the KY-037 sound sensor detects sound, it will be processed by the Raspberry Pi and then the Pi camera will automatically perform the recording process periodically. When finished, the recording results will be sent directly to the user's email via the SMPT (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server provided by Google. All processes in this tool system work completely automatically

Implementasi Metode Store-Forward Dengan Protokol SMTP Untuk Pengiriman Fax Pada Jaringan IP Sebagai Alternatif Migrasi Layanan Facsimile Pada Next Generation Network
