On the Design of Perceptual MPEG-Video Encryption Algorithms
In this paper, some existing perceptual encryption algorithms of MPEG videos
are reviewed and some problems, especially security defects of two recently
proposed MPEG-video perceptual encryption schemes, are pointed out. Then, a
simpler and more effective design is suggested, which selectively encrypts
fixed-length codewords (FLC) in MPEG-video bitstreams under the control of
three perceptibility factors. The proposed design is actually an encryption
configuration that can work with any stream cipher or block cipher. Compared
with the previously-proposed schemes, the new design provides more useful
features, such as strict size-preservation, on-the-fly encryption and multiple
perceptibility, which make it possible to support more applications with
different requirements. In addition, four different measures are suggested to
provide better security against known/chosen-plaintext attacks.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, IEEEtran.cl
Cryptanalysis of an Encryption Scheme Based on Blind Source Separation
Recently Lin et al. proposed a method of using the underdetermined BSS (blind
source separation) problem to realize image and speech encryption. In this
paper, we give a cryptanalysis of this BSS-based encryption and point out that
it is not secure against known/chosen-plaintext attack and chosen-ciphertext
attack. In addition, there exist some other security defects: low sensitivity
to part of the key and the plaintext, a ciphertext-only differential attack,
divide-and-conquer (DAC) attack on part of the key. We also discuss the role of
BSS in Lin et al.'s efforts towards cryptographically secure ciphers.Comment: 8 pages, 10 figures, IEEE forma
Novel Framework for Hidden Data in the Image Page within Executable File Using Computation between Advanced Encryption Standard and Distortion Techniques
The hurried development of multimedia and internet allows for wide
distribution of digital media data. It becomes much easier to edit, modify and
duplicate digital information. In additional, digital document is also easy to
copy and distribute, therefore it may face many threats. It became necessary to
find an appropriate protection due to the significance, accuracy and
sensitivity of the information. Furthermore, there is no formal method to be
followed to discover a hidden data. In this paper, a new information hiding
framework is presented. The proposed framework aim is implementation of
framework computation between advance encryption standard (AES) and distortion
technique (DT) which embeds information in image page within executable file
(EXE file) to find a secure solution to cover file without change the size of
cover file. The framework includes two main functions; first is the hiding of
the information in the image page of EXE file, through the execution of four
process (specify the cover file, specify the information file, encryption of
the information, and hiding the information) and the second function is the
extraction of the hiding information through three process (specify the stego
file, extract the information, and decryption of the information).Comment: 6 Pages IEEE Format, International Journal of Computer Science and

Secure Media Streaming for Android
Digital media distribution systems must protect the confidentiality and integrity of content and ensure its authenticity, without introducing excessive overhead. Of- ten, it is desirable to sacrifice some degree of cryptographic security for improved performance. In this project, we have implemented a secure streaming server for the Android platform. We consider various encryption strategies for streaming video and analyze the tradeoff between security and efficiency
Effective Caching for the Secure Content Distribution in Information-Centric Networking
The secure distribution of protected content requires consumer authentication
and involves the conventional method of end-to-end encryption. However, in
information-centric networking (ICN) the end-to-end encryption makes the
content caching ineffective since encrypted content stored in a cache is
useless for any consumer except those who know the encryption key. For
effective caching of encrypted content in ICN, we propose a novel scheme,
called the Secure Distribution of Protected Content (SDPC). SDPC ensures that
only authenticated consumers can access the content. The SDPC is a lightweight
authentication and key distribution protocol; it allows consumer nodes to
verify the originality of the published article by using a symmetric key
encryption. The security of the SDPC was proved with BAN logic and Scyther tool
verification.Comment: 7 pages, 9 figures, 2018 IEEE 87th Vehicular Technology Conference
