In the realm of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems, the selection of a weighting method holds a critical role. Researchers from diverse fields have consistently employed MCDM techniques, utilizing both traditional and novel methods to enhance the discipline. Acknowledging the significance of staying abreast of such methodological developments, this study endeavors to contribute to the field through a comprehensive review of several novel weighting-based methods: CILOS, IDOCRIW, FUCOM, LBWA, SAPEVO-M, and MEREC. Each method is scrutinized in terms of its characteristics and steps while also drawing upon publications extracted from the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. Through bibliometric and content analyses, this study delves into the trend, research components (sources, authors, countries, and affiliations), application areas, fuzzy implementations, hybrid studies (use of other weighting and/or ranking methods), and application tools for these methods. The findings of this review offer an insightful portrayal of the applications of each novel weighting method, thereby contributing valuable knowledge for researchers and practitioners within the field of MCDM.WOS:0009972313000012-s2.0-85160203389Emerging Sources Citation IndexarticleUluslararası işbirliği ile yapılan - EVETHaziran2023YÖK - 2022-2

Abstract:Site suitability problems in renewable energy studies have taken a new turn since the advent of geographical information system (GIS). GIS has been used for site suitability analysis for renewable energy due to its prowess in processing and analyzing attributes with geospatial components. Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) tools are further used for criteria ranking in the order of influence on the study. Upon location of most appropriate sites, the need for intelligent resource forecast to aid in strategic and operational planning becomes necessary if viability of the investment will be enhanced and resource variability will be better understood. One of such intelligent models is the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and its variants. This study presents a mini-review of GIS-based MCDM facility location problems in wind and solar resource site suitability analysis and resource forecast using ANFIS-based models. We further present a framework for the integration of the two concepts in wind and solar energy studies. Various MCDM techniques for decision making with their strengths and weaknesses were presented. Country specific studies which apply GIS-based method in site suitability were presented with criteria considered. Similarly, country-specific studies in ANFIS-based resource forecasts for wind and solar energy were also presented. From our findings, there has been no technically valid range of values for spatial criteria and the analytical hierarchical process (AHP) has been commonly used for criteria ranking leaving other techniques less explored. Also, hybrid ANFIS models are more effective compared to standalone ANFIS models in resource forecast, and ANFIS optimized with population-based models has been mostly used. Finally, we present a roadmap for integrating GIS-MCDM site suitability studies with ANFIS-based modeling for improved strategic and operational planning

Determine OWA operator weights using kernel density estimation

Some subjective methods should divide input values into local clusters before determining the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator weights based on the data distribution characteristics of input values. However, the process of clustering input values is complex. In this paper, a novel probability density based OWA (PDOWA) operator is put forward based on the data distribution characteristics of input values. To capture the local cluster structures of input values, the kernel density estimation (KDE) is used to estimate the probability density function (PDF), which fits to the input values. The derived PDF contains the density information of input values, which reflects the importance of input values. Therefore, the input values with high probability densities (PDs) should be assigned with large weights, while the ones with low PDs should be assigned with small weights. Afterwards, the desirable properties of the proposed PDOWA operator are investigated. Finally, the proposed PDOWA operator is applied to handle the multicriteria decision making problem concerning the evaluation of smart phones and it is compared with some existing OWA operators. The comparative analysis shows that the proposed PDOWA operator is simpler and more efficient than the existing OWA operator

Cloud computing has revolutionized the way businesses and individuals utilize computing resources. It offers on-demand access to a vast pool of virtualized resources, such as processing power, storage, and networking, through the Internet. One of the key challenges in cloud computing is efficiently scheduling jobs to maximize resource utilization and minimize costs. Job scheduling in cloud computing involves allocating tasks or jobs to available resources in an optimal manner. The objective is to minimize job completion time, maximize resource utilization, and meet various performance metrics such as response time, throughput, and energy consumption. Resource optimization techniques play a crucial role in achieving these objectives. Resource optimization techniques aim to efficiently allocate resources to jobs, taking into account factors like resource availability, job priorities, and constraints. These techniques utilize various algorithms and optimization approaches to make intelligent decisions about resource allocation. Research on resource optimization techniques for job scheduling in cloud computing is of significant importance due to the following reasons: Efficient Resource Utilization: Cloud computing environments consist of a large number of resources that need to be utilized effectively to maximize cost savings and overall system performance. By optimizing job scheduling, researchers can develop algorithms and techniques that ensure efficient utilization of resources, leading to improved productivity and reduced costs. Performance Improvement: Job scheduling plays a crucial role in meeting performance metrics such as response time, throughput, and reliability. By designing intelligent scheduling algorithms, researchers can improve the overall system performance, leading to better user experience and customer satisfaction. Scalability: Cloud computing environments are highly scalable, allowing users to dynamically scale resources based on their needs. Effective job scheduling techniques enable efficient resource allocation and scaling, ensuring that the system can handle varying workloads without compromising performance. Energy Efficiency: Cloud data centres consume significant amounts of energy, and optimizing resource allocation can contribute to energy conservation. By scheduling jobs intelligently, researchers can reduce energy consumption, leading to environmental benefits and cost savings for cloud service providers. Quality of Service (QoS): Cloud computing service providers often have service-level agreements (SLAs) that define the QoS requirements expected by users. Resource optimization techniques for job scheduling can help meet these SLAs by ensuring that jobs are allocated resources in a timely manner, meeting performance guarantees, and maintaining high service availability. Here in this research, we have used the method of the weighted product model (WPM). For the topic of Resource Optimization Techniques Based Job Scheduling in Cloud Computing For calculating the values of alternative and evaluation parameters. A variation of the WSM called the weighted product method (WPM) has been proposed to address some of the weaknesses of The WSM that came before it. The main distinction is that the multiplication is being used in place of additional. The terms "scoring methods" are frequently used to describe WSM and WPM Execution time on Virtual machine, Transmission time (delay)on Virtual machine, Processing cost of a task on virtual machine resource optimization techniques based on job scheduling play a crucial role in maximizing the efficiency and performance of cloud computing systems. By effectively managing and allocating resources, these techniques help minimize costs, reduce energy consumption, and improve overall system throughput. One of the key findings is that intelligent job scheduling algorithms, such as genetic algorithms, ant colony optimization
