WFQ ENHANCEMENT USING INTELLIGENT DISTRIBUTED QUEUE BASED ANFIS FOR PACKET SWITCHING NETWORK
The proliferation of the Internet and its applications has led to a potential increase in users' requests for more services at economical prices and Quality of service. The diversity of Internet traffic requires some prioritization and prioritization because some visits deserve great attention while reducing delays and packet losses compared to others. Current swap scheduling mechanisms are characterized by three main characteristics: fairness, complexity, and protection. Therefore, the question remains how we can provide equity and protection with less complex implementation. In this paper present proposed scheduling mechanism to enhance the performance of computer network. Proposed method is utilize an adaptive neural fuzzy inference system in make schedule decision and adapted to handle with varying behaviors of network. It is programmed in object oriented programming C++ with OMNET++ environment. The proposed method ANFIS solving the problem of complexity run time for WFQ algorithm. It uses ANFIS to calculate the virtual finish time for packets instead of mathematically way in the ordinary WFQ. The main contributions of this paper are minimizing the delay, reduce the packet loss in routers service queue and increasing throughput. In order to enhance the performance of computer network

Intelligent based Packet Scheduling Scheme using Internet Protocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) Technology for 5G. Design and Investigation of Bandwidth Management Technique for Service-Aware Traffic Engineering using Internet Protocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) for 5G
Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) makes use of traffic engineering (TE)
techniques and a variety of protocols to establish pre-determined highly
efficient routes in Wide Area Network (WAN). Unlike IP networks in which
routing decision has to be made through header analysis on a hop-by-hop
basis, MPLS makes use of a short bit sequence that indicates the forwarding
equivalence class (FEC) of a packet and utilises a predefined routing table to
handle packets of a specific FEC type. Thus header analysis of packets is not
required, resulting in lower latency. In addition, packets of similar
characteristics can be routed in a consistent manner. For example, packets
carrying real-time information can be routed to low latency paths across the
networks. Thus the key success to MPLS is to efficiently control and distribute
the bandwidth available between applications across the networks.
A lot of research effort on bandwidth management in MPLS networks has
already been devoted in the past. However, with the imminent roll out of 5G,
MPLS is seen as a key technology for mobile backhaul. To cope with the 5G
demands of rich, context aware and multimedia-based user applications, more
efficient bandwidth management solutions need to be derived.
This thesis focuses on the design of bandwidth management algorithms, more
specifically QoS scheduling, in MPLS network for 5G mobile backhaul. The
aim is to ensure the reliability and the speed of packet transfer across the
network. As 5G is expected to greatly improve the user experience with
innovative and high quality services, users’ perceived quality of service (QoS)
needs to be taken into account when deriving such bandwidth management
solutions. QoS expectation from users are often subjective and vague. Thus
this thesis proposes the use of fuzzy logic based solution to provide service aware and user-centric bandwidth management in order to satisfy
requirements imposed by the network and users.
Unfortunately, the disadvantage of fuzzy logic is scalability since dependable
fuzzy rules and membership functions increase when the complexity of being
modelled increases. To resolve this issue, this thesis proposes the use of neuro-fuzzy to solicit interpretable IF-THEN rules. The algorithms are
implemented and tested through NS2 and Matlab simulations. The
performance of the algorithms are evaluated and compared with other
conventional algorithms in terms of average throughput, delay, reliability, cost,
packet loss ratio, and utilization rate.
Simulation results show that the neuro-fuzzy based algorithm perform better
than fuzzy and other conventional packet scheduling algorithms using IP and
IP over MPLS technologies.Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND
Classification hardness for supervised learners on 20 years of intrusion detection data
This article consolidates analysis of established (NSL-KDD) and new intrusion detection datasets (ISCXIDS2012, CICIDS2017, CICIDS2018) through the use of supervised machine learning (ML) algorithms. The uniformity in analysis procedure opens up the option to compare the obtained results. It also provides a stronger foundation for the conclusions about the efficacy of supervised learners on the main classification task in network security. This research is motivated in part to address the lack of adoption of these modern datasets. Starting with a broad scope that includes classification by algorithms from different families on both established and new datasets has been done to expand the existing foundation and reveal the most opportune avenues for further inquiry. After obtaining baseline results, the classification task was increased in difficulty, by reducing the available data to learn from, both horizontally and vertically. The data reduction has been included as a stress-test to verify if the very high baseline results hold up under increasingly harsh constraints. Ultimately, this work contains the most comprehensive set of results on the topic of intrusion detection through supervised machine learning. Researchers working on algorithmic improvements can compare their results to this collection, knowing that all results reported here were gathered through a uniform framework. This work's main contributions are the outstanding classification results on the current state of the art datasets for intrusion detection and the conclusion that these methods show remarkable resilience in classification performance even when aggressively reducing the amount of data to learn from
Toward enhancement of deep learning techniques using fuzzy logic: a survey
Deep learning has emerged recently as a type of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), it usually imitates the human way in gaining a particular knowledge type. Deep learning is considered an essential data science element, which comprises predictive modeling and statistics. Deep learning makes the processes of collecting, interpreting, and analyzing big data easier and faster. Deep neural networks are kind of ML models, where the non-linear processing units are layered for the purpose of extracting particular features from the inputs. Actually, the training process of similar networks is very expensive and it also depends on the used optimization method, hence optimal results may not be provided. The techniques of deep learning are also vulnerable to data noise. For these reasons, fuzzy systems are used to improve the performance of deep learning algorithms, especially in combination with neural networks. Fuzzy systems are used to improve the representation accuracy of deep learning models. This survey paper reviews some of the deep learning based fuzzy logic models and techniques that were presented and proposed in the previous studies, where fuzzy logic is used to improve deep learning performance. The approaches are divided into two categories based on how both of the samples are combined. Furthermore, the models' practicality in the actual world is revealed
From Intrusion Detection to Attacker Attribution: A Comprehensive Survey of Unsupervised Methods
Over the last five years there has been an increase in the frequency and diversity of network attacks. This holds true, as more and more organisations admit compromises on a daily basis. Many misuse and anomaly based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) that rely on either signatures, supervised or statistical methods have been proposed in the literature, but their trustworthiness is debatable. Moreover, as this work uncovers, the current IDSs are based on obsolete attack classes that do not reflect the current attack trends. For these reasons, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of unsupervised and hybrid methods for intrusion detection, discussing their potential in the domain. We also present and highlight the importance of feature engineering techniques that have been proposed for intrusion detection. Furthermore, we discuss that current IDSs should evolve from simple detection to correlation and attribution. We descant how IDS data could be used to reconstruct and correlate attacks to identify attackers, with the use of advanced data analytics techniques. Finally, we argue how the present IDS attack classes can be extended to match the modern attacks and propose three new classes regarding the outgoing network communicatio
Shallow and deep networks intrusion detection system : a taxonomy and survey
Intrusion detection has attracted a considerable interest from researchers and industries. The community, after many years of research, still faces the problem of building reliable and efficient IDS that are capable of handling large quantities of data, with changing patterns in real time situations. The work presented in this manuscript classifies intrusion detection systems (IDS). Moreover, a taxonomy and survey of shallow and deep networks intrusion detection systems is presented based on previous and current works. This taxonomy and survey reviews machine learning techniques and their performance in detecting anomalies. Feature selection which influences the effectiveness of machine learning (ML) IDS is discussed to explain the role of feature selection in the classification and training phase of ML IDS. Finally, a discussion of the false and true positive alarm rates is presented to help researchers model reliable and efficient machine learning based intrusion detection systems
