Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are collecting enlarge recognition from techno based and deployment based sections of industry, due to the various applications and probable immense welfare they offer for future VANET users. Safety information exchange enables life-critical application, such as the alerting functionality during crossing traversing and lane merging, and thus, plays a key role in VANET application. In a VANET, vehicles will depend on the integrity of received data for deciding when to send lerting triggers to drivers. The interaction between car to car, car to roadside unit is done using wireless communication interfaces. That is why sefty is an salient concern area for vehicular grid application. For authentication purpose so many bandwidths is consumed and the production becomes low. In VANET some serious networks attacks such as man in middle attack, impersonation is possible. In this paper we are going to through some light on the previous researches done in this area and will compare the various drawbacks of these researches. After that we are giving different issues on VANET and finally conclude with proposed algorithms. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15031

Towards the deployment and adoption of Location-based services for optimal mobile communication operations in Africa

    Get PDF
Africa is the world’s second largest and second most populous continent with about one billion people. Mobile phones are a major source of communication and means of taking information and technology to rural and remote areas of the continent. With low-cost and readily available mobile phones, underprivileged, low-income earners and rural dwellers can also participate in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution. Services are introduced by mobile operators and vendors to enhance and optimize this mobile evolution. One of such service is location-based services (LBS); LBS make available personalized services based on the geographical location of the subscriber’s phone. LBS will be of great technological advantage in Africa optimizing operators’ networks and bringing location information and services closer to the people. This paper offers some suggestions on effective deployment and adoption of LBS in Africa based on case studies from developed and developing countries

Emergency Push Notification Mobile Application A Study on Personal Safety Using Mobile Phone and Prototype Design

Mobile application has become a mainstream and ideal way for everything. This includes the implementation of mobile application in personal safety purpose. However, the effectiveness of the existing personal safety mobile applications is still questionable. This is because the help requestor still needs to undergo a series of step to request for help even with the use of mobile application. This proves to be time- consuming and inefficient in the kind of situation that involves the victim’s life in jeopardy. Requesting for help in such desperate situation such as kidnapping supposed to be quick and effective with most minimum procedure needed for the victim to request for help. Therefore, this research is to solve all the above mentioned problems by eliminating the series of procedure to request for help and in the same time addressing the issues associated with it. To achieve the goal of this research, the author aims to develop a prototype of a personal safety mobile application that addresses the mentioned concerns above. A series of methodology which involves qualitative and quantitative methodology will be executed in light of this research. Together with it, developmental tools of the prototype will be used by the author including Android Software Development Kit among others. The scope is fully focusing on the society of Malaysia as the research methods are executed by survey and other existing issue regarding personal safety among Malaysian citizen

Experimental Evaluation of Safety through Automatic Identification of Drunk Driving (DD) and Road Accidents (RA) as a part of Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET)

VANET is a wireless network system that gives driving support and motorway wellbeing. Road accidents assert a staggeringly high number of lives each year. As is needless to say; a majority of accidents, which occur, are due to drunk driving.Accordingly, there is no compelling component to keep this. Here we have a designed framework to monitors the driver's state using various sensors and searches for triggers that can cause accidents. When an alert situation is distinguished, the framework informs the driver and tries to caution him. On the off chance that the driver does not react in a stipulated time, the framework controls the speed of the vehicles. An SMS (Short Message Service) which contains the present GPS (Global Positioning System) area of the vehicle is sent via GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) module to the police control room to alarm the police. Here we also intersection the new thought for recover the general population at the time of crisis to overcome such risky accidents and correspondence issues in VANET (Vehicular Ad Hoc Network); we have utilized sensors hubs as a part of the vehicles. Once the vehicle meets an accident, the sensor will inform about the accidents to the nearest health center with the help of RSUs (road side sensor units) and Base Stations (BS). Furthermore, it gives the new route to vehicles to keep away from traffic blockage with the assistance of sensor cooperation situation. In this way, it gives a feasible and effective solution for the issue of intoxicated driving and Accidents Notification in VANET

HALAL Food Spotting and Navigation Helper in China for Tourist

HALAL Food Spotting and Navigation Helper in China for tourist is a website service that can be used with the availability of World Wide Web (WWW) through a handheld mobile devices connected to a mobile network or any wireless network. It focuses on helping especially Muslim tourists from Malaysia to navigate around China without the help from any other external sources except for their very own smart phone. This is to allow the users to access to Google Maps in anytime, anywhere. Tourists guiding through mobile application contains both informing the tourists about spots to search for HALAL foods located near their whereabouts as well as searching for places and determine the HALAL foods available at one place. It is no other than an expert system for Muslim tourists searching for HALAL foods, where the Integrated development Environments (IDE) used is the Microsoft Visual Studio Express is a free version IDE that is developed by Microsoft, while the web development tool that is used is the Visual Web developer Express. All in all, the system helps people to plan their own travelling and get intimate service on independent travel

Reign Mobile Application for Hotspot Detection

    Get PDF
Reign mobile hotspot detection system is a cross platform mobile application developed to help warn its users of hostile areas (i.e., areas prone to accident, flooding, kidnapping, civil unrest, etc.). It also has functionalities that allow users to report hazardous areas through a preconfigured e-mail, which includes the users current location and a description of the hazard being reported. The goal of this project is to explore the use of mobile computing, by means of mobile apps, to address some of the social and developmental challenges being experienced in Nigeria. Thus, we could adapt technology to improve social conditions as well as, possibly, save lives. The motivation for this project is the ubiquity of mobile computing, particularly when we consider that Nigeria with a population of over 140 million people is currently estimated to have a mobile broadband Internet penetration equivalent of about 30%. These users mostly connect through mobile devices with at least 100million unique mobile communication lines registered. The app was developed with HTML5 and JAVA programming languages, uses GPS coordinates to map locations and a push server to send alerts to registered users. Currently, the Android version of the app has been developed and is being tested. During the development and testing, we interacted with security and paramilitary institutions  like the Police, Federal Road Safety Service (FRSC) and the Nigerian Metrological Agency (NIMET) in order to ascertain areas that are prone to hazards. Preliminary tests in Lagos and Abuja confirm the functionality and usefulness of the app. Keywords: Mobile computing, hotspot detection, security hazards, crime detection and prevention, alerts
