New bounds on the signed total domination number of graphs
In this paper, we study the signed total domination number in graphs and
present new sharp lower and upper bounds for this parameter. For example by
making use of the classic theorem of Turan, we present a sharp lower bound on
this parameter for graphs with no complete graph of order r+1 as a subgraph.
Also, we prove that n-2(s-s') is an upper bound on the signed total domination
number of any tree of order n with s support vertices and s' support vertives
of degree two. Moreover, we characterize all trees attainig this bound.Comment: This paper contains 11 pages and one figur
On the Signed -independence Number of Graphs
In this paper, we study the signed 2-independence number in graphs and give new sharp upper and lower bounds on the signed 2-independence number of a graph by a simple uniform approach. In this way, we can improve and generalize some known results in this area
A new approach on locally checkable problems
By providing a new framework, we extend previous results on locally checkable
problems in bounded treewidth graphs. As a consequence, we show how to solve,
in polynomial time for bounded treewidth graphs, double Roman domination and
Grundy domination, among other problems for which no such algorithm was
previously known. Moreover, by proving that fixed powers of bounded degree and
bounded treewidth graphs are also bounded degree and bounded treewidth graphs,
we can enlarge the family of problems that can be solved in polynomial time for
these graph classes, including distance coloring problems and distance
domination problems (for bounded distances)
(Open) packing number of some graph products
The packing number of a graph G is the maximum number of closed neighborhoods of vertices in G with pairwise empty intersections. Similarly, the open packing number of G is the maximum number of open neighborhoods in C with pairwise empty intersections. We consider the packing and open packing numbers on graph products. In particular we give a complete solution with respect to some properties of factors in the case of lexicographic and rooted products. For Cartesian, strong and direct products, we present several lower and upper bounds on these parameters
Global Constraint Catalog, 2nd Edition
This report presents a catalogue of global constraints where
each constraint is explicitly described in terms of graph properties and/or automata and/or first order logical formulae with arithmetic. When available, it also presents some typical usage as well as some pointers to existing
filtering algorithms
