Success in an increasingly competitive marketplace depends on the quality of knowledge that organizations apply to their key business processes. The concept of knowledge management (KM) is widely discussed in commercial applications. There are limited discussions as to how it applies to not-for-profit organizations and its relevant measurement issues. This paper examines the application of knowledge management systems (KMS) in a private college in Taiwan, who is facing administrative challenges and cutting-edge competition. The multi-perspective modeling approach is adopted. The college first defines vision in a SWOT analysis through faculty brainstorming sessions. Leadership is formed to ensure a culture of sharing. A knowledge road map then documents inventories of IC and core competence. After defining knowledge management strategies in academic and organizational perspective, the KM model describes steps and procedures for implementation. Finally, implications for other universities and colleges are discussed

Purpose: This study provides a model for establishing a comprehensive knowledge management system in knowledge-based organizations based on success factors. Research methodology: A researcher-made questionnaire was used to examine these factors and finally to present the model. The statistical population of this study is all managers and employees of knowledge-based organizations. There are 150 of them and 108 people were randomly selected as the research sample. Result: The results of factor analysis showed that all 7 factors under study explain 65.16% of the total variance, which is acceptable. On the other hand, the results of the Friedman test also showed the first to the seventh priority of effective factors of knowledge success in construction projects, including human resource development, knowledge-based orientation, knowledge evaluation and transfer, information systems infrastructure, business culture, modeling. Finally, there was a conflict between people. A model was designed according to the mentioned priority. Limitations: This research only described knowledge-based organizations. Contribution: In this article, using a comprehensive knowledge management system, an attempt is made to provide a mechanism for establishing and implementing a comprehensive knowledge management system in knowledge-based organizations to help it take an important step towards capacity building to create value in processes and exchanges. The knowledge of the experts of the organization should be removed in order to direct the tacit knowledge of the experts, which is the main capital of any organization, towards this important issue

An approach to measure similarity of business process models

At higher levels of BPM (Business Process Management) maturity, organizations tend to accumulate considerable amounts of business process models [1]. Thus, business process model repositories may contain hundreds or even thousands models, represented using various modeling notations [2]. Since business process modeling technique is used by organizations to describe knowledge about their activities, the problem of store, share, and reuse of organizational knowledge, represented using business process models, becomes relevant. In this paper a similarity measure, used to retrieve business process models from a repository in order to their further reuse in a business process continuous improvement cycle according to BPM concept, is proposed. The problem of similar business process models retrieving has been earlier considered in studies [1, 3, 4], which propose several measures, based on label similarity, structural similarity, behavioral similarity etc
