    Since the relationship between knowledge management and ITbusiness strategic alignment should be investigated further, highlighting the importance of knowledge (both tacit and explicit) in the formation and implementation of IT strategy; this research aims to review and discuss the links between data, information, and knowledge; how researchers classify knowledge; the ways that firms could manage their knowledge and systems; the difficulties and challenges that firms might face when implementing knowledge management systems, and the ways in which managers should resolve such challenges; and empirical research on the linkage between knowledge management strategies and firm performance. Consequently, further research is needed to validate the ways researchers measure the associations among IT-business strategic alignment, knowledge management, and firm performance in both developed and developing countries and across different industries

    Strategy as Learning: Capturing Emerging Knowledge

    The process of strategy making presents a multi-faceted debate, with the ‘Learning School’ of strategic management being one of the main approaches to conceptualise strategy formation. This approach suggests that strategy making is a process of emergent learning over time, where strategy makers critically reflect on past experience, experiment in new competitive conditions and adapt their strategies accordingly. The premises of the Learning School are similar to the premises of action learning, and yet, the action learning paradigm appears to have made little or no impact in strategic management literature and practice. This paper proposes that implementing an action learning methodology into the process of strategy making could make an important contribution to strategy makers by capturing, harnessing and developing organizational learning and knowledge

    The importance of effective information and knowledge management in enterprises has spurred the development of numerous information and knowledge management software.Whilst emphasis is placed on effective document management, the essence of knowledge management is diluted as the focus is presently on managing uninterpreted data and information in document-type formats.To address this issue of the lack of true knowledge management in enterprises, especially in healthcare enterprises, we propose a Platform for Enterprise-Wide Healthcare Knowledge Management (KM-Platform).This platform is made up of two suites of applications and services, i.e. the Intelligent Agent-Based Knowledge Management Application Suite and the Strategic Visualisation, Planning and Coalition Formation Service Suite

    The strategic risk management of IT projects towards a precise definition of the role of top management has been investigated and conceptualized in this research. The study contributes to the body of knowledge in the area of strategic management in IT projects as there is a shortage of literatures in the area. The study shapes on known theories towards the formation of unknown theories which can serve as grounds for future researches in the area of strategic management of IT projects. The population of the research includes all IT professionals and senior management officials of institutions in UAE with a dedicated IT department and the sample size was determined as 384 respondents, and finally collected 371 altogether. Through a careful analysis of findings, results revealed significant and positive predictive effects of both strategic planning processes and strategic risk integration on IT project environment. JEL: G30; G32  Article visualizations

    Knowledge management has emerged as a key lever for improving performance, boosting productivity and creativity and facilitating innovation in organizational settings.  Knowledge Management is a modern multidisciplinary process of exploiting knowledge and information of an organization in order to achieve organizational objectives. The particular nature of knowledge management is proving to be a very useful tool in the field of strategic management providing valuable knowledge and information enforcing strategic planning. The aim of this paper is to analyze the interdependency between strategic management and knowledge management. By outlining the main strategic management perspectives in contemporary business literature and combining them with current knowledge management perspectives, an indication of the evolution of research pertaining to strategic knowledge management emerges. In a knowledge economy is vitally important task for companies is finding new ways to obtain competitive advantages, including a detailed analysis of current trends and concepts of strategic management of innovation development of enterprises, research and describe the processes of innovation and how they generate within the enterprise. The article analyzes the modern concept of strategic management of innovation development of enterprise, which are basically the assumption of priority importance of external factors in the formation of competitive advantage. In the process of classifying these concepts found that strategic management is characterized by large thematic variety and availability of different views on the process of building a strategy.
