The most recent trend in website development is the usage of Content Management Systems (CMS). These systems provide user-friendly interactive interface for persons without prior computer coding knowledge to utilize them to create websites. Different kinds of content management system technologies are now available, hence, it becomes challenging for users/developers to decide on which one is best to work with. This study, researched into three popular CMS’s namely, Joomla, Drupal and WordPress to explore which of these proposed three will be ideal for developing efficient website in terms of performance. This study resulted in researching into details the features common to all the three CMSs. These features were evaluated based on four performance criteria. The method this study used was a quantitative method. Practically, the researcher developed three websites using the three CMSs, and tested them against performance criteria namely, page load time, page size , number of cascading style sheet file and number of JavaScript files. The results or data collected through the page performance exercise was then tabulated, compared, and later analyzed. The study found that Joomla CMS created much JavaScript files as compared to all, and as a result was very interactive, WordPress also created much CSS file, as a result gives the best web layout. The researcher concluded that each of these CMS performed well in different criteria. As a result, the best CMS will depend on the interest of the developer for his or her site. These researched done will help readers and the academia in general to acquire knowledge that reveals the characteristics of the three CMS in terms of strengths and shortfalls. This chapter describes an innovative implementation of the use of iPad kiosks to blur the lines between physical and virtual library collections. Providence College’s Phillips Memorial Library + Commons began lending iPads to students, faculty, and staff in 2012. In addition to lending the devices, library staff dedicated time to learning about both task-based and subject-based mobile applications that would be of use to our community. A small group of library staff tested, discussed, and vetted a variety of apps that would be deployed on the iPads to be lent out. Efforts were made to promote the use and discovery of various apps on the devices through thoughtful organization of the apps on the devices themselves, programming around applications, and the creation of an online research guide designed to teach more about the apps. Despite these initiatives, assessment data from the iPad lending program collected over the course of five semesters suggests that patrons borrowing the iPads are using them primarily for accessing the Internet (Safari, Chrome, etc.), social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and consuming media (YouTube, Netflix, Pandora, Spotify, etc.). With this data in mind, library staff began to think of alternative ways to connect our patrons with useful, content-based, mobile applications. Drawing on research around the Internet of Things and the integration of digital technologies with our physical lives, the Digital Publishing Services Coordinator suggested positioning iPad kiosks strategically within the library’s physical book collection as a means to connect patrons browsing a given area of the stacks with the library’s online resources related to that subject area. The library’s Commons Technology Specialist had experience with iPad kiosks and programming the iPads as he had managed the logistics of the iPad lending program since its inception. Working collaboratively, these colleagues devised a way to image the iPads for public use and load them with subject-specific apps as well as links to library databases and open web resources. The team chose to use Scalar as the primary content management tool for kiosk content. This chapter provides details about the selection and deployment of content for the Theology Kiosk, signage and communications created to attract patrons to the kiosk, and initial data about kiosk use. The piece concludes with a review of the kiosk project and an outline of future planning related to the project (staff time, hardware and software requirements, usability testing, scaling the project, etc.)

The testing process is not only useful for testing existing features, but also for finding errors on websites and mobile applications. It also provides feedback to the developer about the application being tested. To test large scale applications, a test automation is needed so that testing can be done more efficiently and effectively. Katalon Studio is an automation testing tool developed by Katalon LLC to automate testing on websites, API's and mobile applications. The programming languages used to create scripts in Katalon Studio are Groovy, Java, and Javascript. The scripting technique provided by Katalon Studio is a keyword driven approach where keywords in the method of Katalon Studio are used to represent the actions performed by tester on the application being tested. Katalon Studio will also facilitate tester in documenting testing results or test reports in the form of charts, graphs, and detailed reports using Katalon Analytics. The results of the testing show that the use of Katalon Studio helps both beginner and experienced tester create and design automation testing on websites, APIs, and mobile applications with spy and record utilities features. Katalon Studio also provides interactive test reports in the form of graphic visualization. From the results of API testing, it can be concluded that Katalon Studio makes it easy for tester to do end to end API testing without additional integration with other software

E-books, articles and other documents in portable document format (PDF) files are becoming more common, and they can incorporate videos, hyperlinks, and JavaScript. This article focuses on combining random number generation and PDF files in order to enhance the effectiveness of teaching materials. For example, a traditional textbook might have a few problems per chapter, but by utilizing JavaScript and embedding it within a PDF file, it is possible to create practically an unlimited number of problems with solutions. Another possible use of random number generation for an instructor is to create assignments and exams with unique numbers. The article contains two examples for the reader with their associated JavaScript and LaTeX code. Finally, the paper covers, in general, how to use JavaScript, random number generation, and LaTeX for enhancing teaching materials in terms of instruction and assessment
