    Get PDF
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyse research published in the Journal of Enterprise Information Management (JEIM) in the last ten years (1999 to 2008). Design/methodology/approach – Employing a profiling approach, the analysis of the 381 JEIM publications includes examining variables such as the most active authors, geographic diversity, authors' backgrounds, co-author analysis, research methods and keyword analysis. Findings – All the finding are in relation to the period of analysis (1999 to 2008). (a) Research categorised under descriptive, theoretical and conceptual methods is the most dominant research approach followed by JEIM authors. This is followed by case study research. (b) The largest proportion of contributions came from researchers and practitioners with an information systems background, followed by those with a background in business and computer science and IT. (c) The keyword analysis suggests that ‘information systems’, ‘electronic commerce’, ‘internet’, ‘logistics’, ‘supply chain management’, ‘decision making’, ‘small to medium-sized enterprises’, ‘information management’, ‘outsourcing’, and ‘modelling’ were the most frequently investigated keywords. (d) The paper presents and discusses the findings obtained from the citation analysis that determines the impact of the research published in the JEIM. Originality/value – The primary value of this paper lies in extending the understanding of the evolution and patterns of IS research. This has been achieved by analysing and synthesising existing JEIM publications

Big Data in operations and supply chain management: a systematic literature review and future research agenda

    Get PDF
In the era of digitalisation, the role of Big Data is proliferating, receiving considerable attention in all sectors and domains. The domain of operations and supply chain management (OSCM) is no different since it offers multiple opportunities to generate a large magnitude of data in real-time. Such extensive opportunities for data generation have attracted academics and practitioners alike who are eager to tap different elements of Big Data application in OSCM. Despite the richness of prior studies, there is limited research that extensively reviews the extant findings to present an overview of the different facets of this area. The current study addresses this gap by conducting a systematic literature review (SLR) to uncover the existing research trends, distil key themes, and identify areas for future research. For this purpose, 116 studies were identified through a stringent search protocol and critically analysed. The key outcome of this SLR is the development of a conceptual framework titled the Dimensions-Avenues-Benefits (DAB) model for BDA adoption as well as potential research questions to support novel investigations in the area, offering actionable implications for managers working in different verticals and sectors.publishedVersio

La economía circular y la sostenibilidad: una revisión sistemática de la literatura

    Get PDF
[EN] The interest of this study lies in the fact that the transition from a linear to a circular economy is of key interest in relevant business and academic fields, although the circular economy is an emerging issue and theoretical and empirical research has been limited until recently. However, circular business models are receiving more and more attention, and it is therefore strategically necessary to develop tools that facilitate their implementation. Therefore, because of increasing interest amongst research in the circular economy and sustainability, the purpose of the present study and its strength lies in the systematic presentation of both of these specific academic streams. The approach was qualitative and based on a systematic literature review. We examined several areas in which the circular economy has a place. We highlight sustainability, consumer behaviour, innovation, remanufacturing, operations management, supply chains, intellectual capital, 3D printing, big data, and recycling. We also consider drivers, challenges, the relationship between circular economy and small to medium-sized enterprises, and the influence of circular economy in specific sectors such as textiles and food. It is hoped that the study will facilitate a possible sustainable solution that contrasts with the current linear model of production and resource management. We acknowledge financial support from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and FEDER (project ECO2017-85451-R), and from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (SIA: 998758 2019)

A Systematic Literature Review on IT Outsourcing Decision and Future Research Directions

    Get PDF
During the recent decades, some academic research on the subject of information technology outsourcing (ITO) decision has appeared in different outlets, which may impede the use of such resources and as a result, repetition of research by various researchers is very likely. The purpose of this paper is then to conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) pertaining to research on ITO decision. Then, this review intends to 1) classify ITO decision literature, 2) provide a list of factors affecting ITO decision, and 3) identify ITO strategies. To this end, 91 ITO articles published between 2000 and 2018 in 51 unique journals were reviewed. The results yielded three kinds of descriptive, relational, and comparative ITO decision studies. The determinants of ITO decisions are classified into technological, organizational, environmental and user adoption factors. Furthermore, the trend of studied ITO strategies in the reviewed literature is analyzed, and future sourcing varietals are proposed. Finally, some insights and future research directions are proposed based on the review results.During the recent decades, some academic research on the subject of information technology outsourcing (ITO) decision has appeared in different outlets, which may impede the use of such resources and as a result, repetition of research by various researchers is very likely. The development of media based on the internet has not dampened the existence of television broadcasts, because the penetration of information through television is still the highest. In terms of broadcast infrastructure quality, Indonesia lags behind other countries. Indonesia still uses analog channels while other countries have turned off analog broadcasts and switched to digital broadcasts. On top of that, it is necessary to describe the migration policy of analog television broadcasts to digital broadcasts that supports the improvement of television broadcast quality in Indonesia, and the prospects for the post-migration broadcast industry from analog television to digital broadcasting. The result is an analog switch off (ASO) which encourages efficient use of frequency bands in Indonesia. However, it is suspected that the implementation of digital television free-to-air (FTA) migration could damage the broadcast business structure. By 2022, there will be 103 licensed digital broadcasters and 728 broadcasters who will migrate to digital. The number of broadcasts will have an impact on the level of competition between broadcasting institutions to get cake as a source of life. In terms of nice breadth, niche overlap, and nice, all major broadcasts will still dominate the competition map in the broadcast industry. Meanwhile, local broadcasting institutions that are established in the regions will find it difficult to compete

The contribution of this paper is a methodology for profiling literature in Information Systems (IS) using a powerful tool for co-citation analysis - Citespace. Co-citation analysis provide important insights into knowledge domains by identifying frequently co-cited papers, authors and journals. The methodology is applied to a dataset comprising of citation data pertaining to a leading European journal – the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS). In this paper we outline the different steps involved in using Citespace to profile literature in IS and use the EJIS dataset as an example. We hope that the readers will employ and/or extend the given methodology to conduct similar bibliometric studies in IS and other research areas

A Conceptual Study on Generic End Users Adoption of e-Government Services

    Get PDF
This study proposes a conceptual model for examining factors affecting e-government adoption in developing countries. It includes evaluating the existing adoption model studies of e-government adoption. Preexisting theoretical model and comprehensive analysis of the various resources was chosen to guide this work, and the result revealed that additional external factors were also important for explaining the e-government adoption in developing countries. Hence, external factors such as trust, national culture, knowledge of e-government services and DeLone and McLean information system (D&M IS) success model also considered relevant were integrated with the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) constructs as examining factors affecting e-government adoption. Finally, this study finds a formulation of the conceptual model and their relationship with all variables for explaining e-government adoption through a systematic justification of the proposed integrated model
