    Uncertainty is widely spread in real-world data. Uncertain data-in computer science-is typically found in the area of sensor networks where the sensors sense the environment with certain error. Mining and visualizing uncertain data is one of the new challenges that face uncertain databases. This paper presents a new intelligent hybrid algorithm that applies fuzzy set theory into the context of the Self-Organizing Map to mine and visualize uncertain objects. The algorithm is tested in some benchmark problems and the uncertain traffics in Named Data Networking (NDN). Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm is precise and effective in terms of the applied performance criteria.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

    When Things Matter: A Data-Centric View of the Internet of Things

    With the recent advances in radio-frequency identification (RFID), low-cost wireless sensor devices, and Web technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT) approach has gained momentum in connecting everyday objects to the Internet and facilitating machine-to-human and machine-to-machine communication with the physical world. While IoT offers the capability to connect and integrate both digital and physical entities, enabling a whole new class of applications and services, several significant challenges need to be addressed before these applications and services can be fully realized. A fundamental challenge centers around managing IoT data, typically produced in dynamic and volatile environments, which is not only extremely large in scale and volume, but also noisy, and continuous. This article surveys the main techniques and state-of-the-art research efforts in IoT from data-centric perspectives, including data stream processing, data storage models, complex event processing, and searching in IoT. Open research issues for IoT data management are also discussed

    Frequent subgraph mining from streams of linked graph structured data

    Nowadays, high volumes of high-value data (e.g., semantic web data) can be generated and published at a high velocity. A collection of these data can be viewed as a big, interlinked, dynamic graph structure of linked resources. Embedded in them are implicit, previously unknown, and potentially useful knowledge. Hence, ecient knowledge discovery algorithms for mining frequent subgraphs from these dynamic, streaming graph structured data are in demand. Some existing algorithms require very large memory space to discover frequent subgraphs; some others discover collections of frequently co-occurring edges (which may be disjoint). In contrast, we propose|in this paper|algorithms that use limited memory space for discovering collections of frequently co-occurring connected edges. Evaluation results show the effectiveness of our algorithms in frequent subgraph mining from streams of linked graph structured data

    Prognosis of Disease that may Occur with Growing Age using Confabulation Based Algorithm

    The enduring diagnosis of patient’s medical records might be useful to determine the causes that are responsible for a particular disease. So that, one can take early preventive measures to curtail the risk of diseases that may occur with the growing age. Consequently, this can enhance the life expectancy probability. Here, a new algorithm CMARM is proposed for analysis of symptoms in order to find out the disease that may occur frequently and rarely with growing age. It uses map reduce paradigm inspired by cognitive learning. It is concerned with acquisition of problem-solving skills, intelligence and conscious thought and uses prevailing knowledge to generate new rules. It has been evaluated over synthetic data sets collected from the health data repository. Since, CMARM requires one-time file access therefore, it is consistently faster and also consuming less memory space than the FP tree based algorithm
