Presentation of a Personal Brand Pattern for Authors of Academic Books in Publishing Industry in Iran (Study Case: Knowledge and Information Science)
Purpose: The aim of this research was to identify, determine, evaluate and prioritize the factors influencing the personal brand pattern of authors of academic books in Iranian publishing industry in the field of library and information science.
Materials and Methods: The methodology of this applied research was the analytical survey. The population of the research includes 122 out of 139 master degree students in the field of library and information science, entrancing in the public universities in Tehran in 2018. The data were collected through library studies and a questionnaire. In fact, previous studies and the documentary research method were used to review the fundamental factors influencing the personal branding of authors of academic books in Iranian publishing industry in the field of library and information science in order to design the questionnaire based on the research model. Research reliability was evaluated by Cronbach's alpha value that was 0.935 for investigation of factors influencing the personal brand and 0.921 for the personal competence. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistical methods by the SPSS and the Smart PLS softwares.
Conclusion: The results showed that factors influencing the personal brand include the following components: cultural component (0.898), specialty (0.875) and social factor (0.620) respectively. The results of the current research indicate that the appropriate fitting of cultural, social and professional components is based on the individual competency components of authors

Using a Multiple-Case Studies Design to Investigate the Information-Seeking Behavior of Arts Administrators
The case study method, and in particular the multiple???case studies
design, offers LIS researchers a proven tool for achieving a deep
understanding of a specific phenomenon???-for example, the information-
seeking behavior of a particular user group. Although the
case study method has been dismissed by critics who question the
rigor of the approach, numerous studies over the past twenty years
have demonstrated that the case study method can be used successfully
to probe beneath the surface of a situation and to provide a
rich context for understanding the phenomena under study. This
article summarizes the application of the multiple???case studies design,
in which a literal and theoretical replication strategy is used to
identify consistent patterns of behavior and to uncover new and/or
divergent themes. The motivation behind arts administrators??? decisions
to seek information is investigated using this approach and
examples are given of sample selection, data collection, and analysis.
Specific issues associated with the case study method are identified
and practical steps used to address them are suggested.published or submitted for publicatio
Support for graphicacy: a review of textbooks available to accounting students
This Teaching Note reports on the support available in textbooks for graphicacy that will help students understand the complexities of graphical displays. Graphical displays play a significant role in financial reporting, and studies have found evidence of measurement distortion and selection bias. To understand the complexities of graphical displays, students need a sound understanding of graphicacy and support from the textbooks available to them to develop that understanding. The Teaching Note reports on a survey that examined the textbooks available to students attending two Scottish universities. The support of critical graphicacy skills was examined in conjunction with textbook characteristics. The survey, which was not restricted to textbooks designated as required reading, examined the textbooks for content on data measurement and graphical displays. The findings highlight a lack of support for graphicacy in the textbooks selected. The study concludes that accounting educators need to scrutinize more closely the selection of textbooks and calls for more extensive research into textbooks as a pedagogic tool

Library resources, student success and the distance-learning university
Purpose - Research at the Open University Library Services has been investigating the relationshipbetween access to online library resources and student success to help to understand whether there is asimilar relationship at a distance-learning university to that found in other institutions. Design/methodology/approach - A small library data project was established to investigate this area. The study analysed online library resource data from access logs from the EZproxy and OpenAthens systems. A data set of 1.7 million online resource accesses was combined with student success data for around 90,000 undergraduate students and a series of analyses undertaken.Findings
The study found a pattern where students who are more successful are accessing more library resources. A chi-square test indicated a statistically significant association between library resource accesses and module result, while an ANOVA test suggests a medium sized effect. The study also found that 152 (76%) of 199 modules had a small, medium or large positive correlation between student success, measured by the overall assessment score, and online library resource accesses.Originality/value - This study builds on evidence that there is a relationship between library use and student success by showing that this relationship extends to the setting of a non-traditional, innovative library service supporting part-time distance learners
Statistical Analysis of Humanities and Social Sciences Collaboration Research in China
With the development of humanities and social sciences, research collaboration becomes more and more important. This article studies collaboration phenomena of seventeen kinds of journalsâ from 1995-2004 in china. According to statistical data, some characteristics are disclosed, and some tested explanations are given. This article makes a comparison of research collaboration between China and other country, and some differences are studied. A lot of differences of research collaboration among humanities sciences, social sciences and natural sciences are also pointed out
