Examining the Impact of E-Governance on the Performance of Corporations: A Case Study of Companies in Jordan

The goal of this study was to investigate the impact that e-governance technologies have on the effectiveness of organizations in Jordans public sector that are responsible for providing services to the public. In particular, the focus of the study was on issues pertaining to work engagement, innovative and imaginative thinking, as well as the effect on society and the environment. In order to achieve this objective, a quantitative research methodology that centered on the administration of an online survey was implemented as the primary tool. The sample was chosen through the use of a stratified random sampling method, and the data analysis was carried out through the utilization of both descriptive and inferential statistics. According to the conclusions of the study, implementing e- governance tools in a firm, such as ERP, CRM, and online collaboration tools, can considerably improve a businesss overall performance. The range of the explained variation was from 53% to 68.9%, demonstrating a substantial association between e-governance and increased performance in the areas of employee engagement, innovation and creativity, and social and environmental impact. The findings of this research offer extremely useful insights into the exact areas of a companys performance that are most affected by the implementation of e-governance systems. The research suggests that businesses should make the implementation of e-governance tools, in particular enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and online collaboration tools, a top priority in order to improve their performance in the aforementioned domains. The conclusions of this study have wider-reaching consequences for organizations and governments all over the world, making it possible for its contributions to have an impact beyond Jordans borders. The research sheds light on how essential e-governance is to the improvement of business performance and the realization of sustainable development objectives. In further investigations, it might be beneficial to try out new approaches to data collection, broaden the scope of the sample to incorporate companies operating in a variety of sectors, and investigate how e-governance affects performance in areas of the business not directly related to it

The moderating effect of environmental regulation and policy on the relationship between total quality management (TQM) and organizational performance in the Malaysian food and beverage companies

There have been inconsistent findings in the literature concerning the relationships between TQM and organizational performance. Hence this research has prompted further investigation on the effect of other variables that may better explain the nature of these links. In the related literatures, many theories have suggested that the compatibility between strategies, resources, and capabilities are the keys for organizational success. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the moderating effects of environmental regulation and policy (ERP) on the relationship between total quality management (TQM) and organizational performance (OP). Quality assurance (QA) and continuous process improvement (CPI) as TQM elements considered in this study were moderated with their respective relationships with organizational performance. Therefore, to achieve this purpose, this study has integrated different theories such as the contingency and the institutional theories in order to provide the effect of QA and CPI on successful strategy implementation. Questionnaires were distributed to 250 Malaysian food and beverages companies. 71 questionnaires were returned and used in the analysis using the PLS-SEM. Studies revealed that TQM can be divided into the management or soft aspects (management concepts and principles) of TQM and the technical or hard aspects (management tools and techniques) of TQM . This study is exclusively based on the soft elements of TQM. The results of this study revealed that QA and CPI have always been significant predictors of organizational performance by following the regulations and policy related to environment. More importantly, the results have also confirmed the moderating effect of environmental regulation and policy on the relationships between TQM and organizational performance. This study also supported the premises of the contingency theory and the institutional theory by reaffirming the importance of the supportive ERP for any successful strategy implementation in enhancing organizational performance through the implementation of innovative practices. Software Engineering Methods for the Internet of Things: A Comparative Review

Accessing different physical objects at any time from anywhere through wireless network heavily impacts the living style of societies worldwide nowadays. Thus, the Internet of Things has now become a hot emerging paradigm in computing environments. Issues like interoperability, software reusability, and platform independence of those physical objects are considered the main current challenges. This raises the need for appropriate software engineering approaches to develop effective and efficient IoT applications software. This paper studies the state of the art of design and development methodologies for IoT software. The aim is to study how proposed approaches have been solved issues of interoperability, reusability, and independence of the platform. Investigating benefits realisation process for enterprise resource planning systems

This research aims to investigate the benefit realisation process for ERP systems so as to develop a benefit realization road map whereby organisations can realize the maximum potential of their ERP systems. This research covers two areas: mechanism of implementation and the destination to change (i.e. road map). It has been found that project management and benefits management approaches are necessary for recouping benefits from investing in Information Technologies (IT) projects. Thus, Project Benefits Governance Framework (PBGF) is developed, and later tested, by combining the two approaches for the sake of realising the expected benefits from investing in IT initiatives. Because ERP demands radical changes in organisations, the neo-institutionalisation theory was adopted to apply PBGF on ERP so that the ERP success is improved. The key connecting element between PM and BM in PGBF is the blueprint design. ERP orchestration framework is developed to show how investments in ERP resources and organisational complementary resources shall be orchestrated so that ERP benefits can be realised effectively. Thus, benefits are classified into three levels (automating, planning, and innovating benefits), and each level needs a specific blueprint. All of these blueprints constitute the ERP benefits road map. Each blueprint consists of attitudes, skills, organisation characteristics, technologies, and ERP department human resources competencies. Based on these results, ERP Business Innovation framework is developed and tested. ERP benefits maturity assessment tool is developed for assessing organisations’ status to show weaknesses and strengths in their ability to recoup different ERP benefits by benchmarking with the three blueprints. This research has contributed by integrating and institutionalising benefits management practices and project management practices. Moreover, it is novel in adapting the orchestration theory to understand how ERP resources shall be composed to achieve benefits efficiently. Finally, it demonstrates that ERP can be a source of innovation if the innovating benefits are managed deliberately

Semantic discovery and reuse of business process patterns

Patterns currently play an important role in modern information systems (IS) development and their use has mainly been restricted to the design and implementation phases of the development lifecycle. Given the increasing significance of business modelling in IS development, patterns have the potential of providing a viable solution for promoting reusability of recurrent generalized models in the very early stages of development. As a statement of research-in-progress this paper focuses on business process patterns and proposes an initial methodological framework for the discovery and reuse of business process patterns within the IS development lifecycle. Implementation and unification of the ERP system in a global company as a strategic decision for sustainable entrepreneurship

This article considered factors connected with the implementation and unification of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, and their influence on the sustainable development of global companies. It showed a cognitive model on such impact and gave an example in the form of a case study of a global company listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. The basic strategic objectives of each organization include long-term growth and sustainability. In a growing competitive environment, it is essential to manage the company effectively. This can be achieved provided that the company's organizational structure and operations are properly set from the point of view of the ERP system. The research results were aimed at creating the generalized process of the ERP system's gradual implementation, to make the development of an organization progressive. The paper was focused on describing the implementation and unification of the Enterprise Resource Planning System, in a global company listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. The aim of the paper was to monitor and evaluate, the links between Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management. This process is time consuming and costly. To achieve the aim, the case study was carried out in the form of an expert survey aimed at assessing the impact of the unification and implementation of the ERP system in a global company. The study included methods of systemic analysis, methods of sociological expert survey, a method of qualitative peer review, and a method for a cognitive model. It leads not only to effective management of global companies but enables the monitoring and comparison of Key Performance Indicators and the Net Promoter Score in each country, using the same parameters. The implementation of a unified Enterprise Resource Planning system leads to a significant cost reduction and has a positive impact on the financial indicators reported on the stock exchange. A Strategic Alignment Perspective of Public-Sector Organisations in Saudi Arabia in the Digital Transformation Age (Quantitative Study)

Public-sector organisations face several challenges in their adoption of digital transformation strategies to achieve strategic goals and objectives. The aim of this study was to assess the determinants of business value related to information technology projects in public-sector organisations from a business-information technology strategic alignment perspective. This study utilised a quantitative design drawing data from 198 surveys. The main findings showed a positive, significant, and impactful linkage between Information System (IS) Governance Mechanisms and Top Management characteristics. Both are essential antecedents of the intellectual dimension of Business-IT Strategic Alignment and the quality of IT Project Planning. The findings also showed a positive relationship between Business-IT Strategic Alignment and the quality of IT Project Planning, which fully mediates the impact of IS Governance Mechanisms and Top Management characteristics on Organisational Performance, Service Innovation, and Operational Excellence
