There is increasing recognition of the role eHealth will play in the effective and efficient delivery of healthcare. This research challenges the assumption that students enter university as digital natives, able to confidently and competently adapt their use of information and communication technology (ICT) to new contexts. This study explored health sciences students' preparedness for working, and leading change, in eHealth-enabled environments. Using a cross-sectional study design, 420 undergraduate and postgraduate students participated in an online survey investigating their understanding of and attitude towards eHealth, frequency of online activities and software usage, confidence learning and using ICTs, and perceived learning needs. Although students reported that they regularly engaged with a wide range of online activities and software and were confident learning new ICT skills especially where they have sufficient time or support, their understanding of eHealth was uncertain or limited. Poor understanding of and difficulty translating skills learned in personal contexts to the professional context may impair graduates ability to confidently engage in the eHealth-enabled workplace. These results suggest educators need to scaf-fold the learning experience to ensure students build on their ICT knowledge to transfer this to their future workplaces

The emergence of the COVID-19 has made some traditional classroom teaching impossible. Therefore, online teaching has become a compelling choice for higher education in China. However, the shortcomings of the weak sense of communication in online teaching leads to poor teaching quality. Especially in the cinematography major, as a highly practical major, online teaching methods cannot achieve the purpose of teaching. The emergence of interactive video technology has brought a turning point for this kind of practical professional network teaching. The study was to explore the effect of using interactive video in major cinematography classrooms and the acceptance of students. The theoretical basis of this research is the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The variables are perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, social influence, self-efficacy, and behavioral intention. The 480 questionnaires were distributed to students from three universities.  The data analysis was based on 451 valid questionnaires returned. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) SEM was used to validate the research hypothesis to determine the relationship between variables. The findings indicate that all six hypotheses proposed in this study are supported. The results showed that students' perceived ease of use when using interactive videos for learning directly affect their perceptions on the usefulness of interactive videos. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness directly impact attitude; that is, when students perceived that the interactive video is easy to operate or helpful, it positively affect their attitude towards interactive video. In addition, attitude, self-efficacy, and social influence are the three influencing factors in predicting students' behavioral intentions. The research results would promote the widespread use of interactive video in higher education by investigating cinematography students' behavioral intentions to use interactive video in professional

Although online collaborative learning (OCL) is now gaining broad acceptance in a multitude of language learning classrooms to improve productivity and languageskills, very few studies have investigated online collaboration in EFL translationclass. This study attempted to fill the research gap by investigating the Thaistudents’ translation skills through online collaborative translation (OCT) inGoogle Docs. Purposive sampling was used to select 26 students enrolling in theThai to English translation course during second semester of 2017-2018 AcademicYear at Asia-Pacific International University. A paired-sample T-test was used toanalyze the data of students’ pre-test and post-test scores before and afterparticipating in online collaborative translation. The results indicated there was astatistically significant difference in the scores on the test from before participatingin OCT (M =16.92, SD = 1.38) and after participating in OCT (M=18.85, SD =1.38)as determined by the paired-samples t-test; [t (25) = -11.08, p < .000]. Moststudents held a positive attitude towards OCT. Following these findings, somepedagogical implications are discussed

Differences in intention to use educational RSS feeds between Lebanese and British students: A multi‑group analysis based on the technology acceptance model

    Get PDF
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) offers a means for university students to receive timely updates from virtual learning environments. However, despite its utility, only 21% of home students surveyed at a university in Lebanon claim to have ever used the technology. To investigate whether national culture could be an influence on intention to use RSS, the survey was extended to British students in the UK. Using the Technology Adoption Model (TAM) as a research framework, 437 students responded to a questionnaire containing four constructs: behavioral intention to use; attitude towards benefit; perceived usefulness; and perceived ease of use. Principle components analysis and structural equation modelling were used to explore the psychometric qualities and utility of TAM in both contexts. The results show that adoption was significantly higher, but also modest, in the British context at 36%. Configural and metric invariance were fully supported, while scalar and factorial invariance were partially supported. Further analysis shows significant differences between perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use across the two contexts studied. Therefore, it is recommended that faculty demonstrate to students how educational RSS feeds can be used effectively to increase awareness and emphasize usefulness in both contexts

In recent times, Augmented Reality has gained more relevance in the field of education. This relevance has been enhanced due to its ease of use, as well as the availability of the technical devices for the students. The present study was conducted with students enrolled in the Pedagogy Degree in the Faculty of Education at the University of Seville. The objective was to understand the degree of technological acceptance of students during their interaction with the AR objects produced, the performance achieved by the students, and if their gender affected their acquisition of knowledge. For this, three data collection instruments were utilized: a multiple choice test for the analysis of the student's performance after the interaction, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) diagnostic instrument, created by Davis (1989), and an “ad hoc” instrument created so that the students could evaluate the class notes enriched with the AR objects created. The study has allowed us to broaden the scientific knowledge of the TAM by Davis, to understand that AR objects can be utilized in university teaching, and to know that the student's gender does not influence learning.Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain EDU-5746-
