The editorial staff has planned an innovative change of this journal beginning with this issue, number 380. The following describes new editorial policies for Bijutsu Kenkyū. 1. New overseas editorial board members have beenadded to the editorial committee, and Bijutsu Kenkyū will publish translations of articles proposed by these members as representative of those published outside of Japan regarding the history of East Asian art. 2. In addition to the existing three categories of articles, namely articles, research materials and introduction of plates, the following three new categories will be introduced: exhibition reviews, book reviews, and research notes. In recent years, research on the history of art has come to recognize the importance of exhibitions and publications in the development of the field. The publication of reviews of exhibitions and books in this journal will provide readers with a new forum for discussion. The intention for the new “research notes” category will explore the forms of new writing style not covered by the existing article format. Further, regarding publication of Japanese translations of articles published overseas, in addition to providing readers with information on activities in East Asian art history research, the goal is to select articles which provide contrast with stances taken by art historical research conducted in Japan, and thus to shed new light on both sides of the equation. We are delighted to announce the 2003 appointment of the journal\u27s first overseas editorial board members, Shih Shou-chien, Deputy Director, National Palace Museum and Professor, National Taiwan University, and Hong Sun-Pyo, Director, Center for Art Studies, Korea and Professor, Department of Art History, Graduate School, Ewha Women\u27s University. We hope that our readers will understand and welcome these new editorial policies.Editorial Board, Bijutsu Kenkyū, August 200

INTRODUCTION: The SCARE Guidelines were first published in 2016 and were last updated in 2018. They provide a structure for reporting surgical case reports and are used and endorsed by authors, journal editors and reviewers, in order to increase robustness and transparency in reporting surgical cases. They must be kept up to date in order to drive forwards reporting quality. As such, we have updated these guidelines via a DELPHI consensus exercise. METHODS: The updated guidelines were produced via a DELPHI consensus exercise. Members were invited from the previous DELPHI group, as well as editorial board members and peer reviewers of the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports. The expert group completed an online survey to indicate their agreement with proposed changes to the checklist items. RESULTS: A total of 54 surgical experts agreed to participate and 53 (98%) completed the survey. The responses and suggested modifications were incorporated into the new 2020 guideline. There was a high degree of agreement amongst the SCARE Group, with all modified SCARE items receiving over 70% scores 7-9. CONCLUSION: A DELPHI consensus exercise was completed and an updated and improved SCARE Checklist is now presented

The Future of Aquatic Commons: Recommendations Based on an Evaluation of Business Models and Stakeholder Consultation

    Get PDF
Aquatic Commons is a digital repository established by the International Association of Aquatic and Marine Libraries and Information Centers (IAMSLIC) in 2007 to provide a solution for member institutions that didn’t have an institutional repository. It is directed by the Aquatic Commons Board, and submissions are reviewed by an editorial team. Originally hosted by the Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA), the repository was moved to the International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) in 2011 when FCLA faced major budgetary issues. Aquatic Commons has grown to more than 20,000 publications from over 90 institutions in all areas of the aquatic sciences, including freshwater, fisheries, and oceanography, yet support for the repository has not kept pace with developmental needs. To ensure a sustainable future, the Aquatic Commons Board determined it was necessary to conduct an evaluation and created the Aquatic Commons Evaluation (ACE) team. The team identified and compared four potential business models: 1a) maintain Aquatic Commons as a separate repository but upgrade the EPrints software; 1b) maintain Aquatic Commons as a separate repository but migrate to DSpace software; 2) migrate content to the existing IODE OceanDocs repository but retain Aquatic Commons identity by having a separate DSpace community; and 3) partner with IODE and possibly the Aquatic Science and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA) to create an entirely new repository with content merged from Aquatic Commons and OceanDocs. The team consulted with potential partners (e.g. ASFA and IODE) and ran a survey to elicit feedback from members, depositors, and other stakeholders about the models, addressing issues of thematic scope, branding, software, technical requirements, workflows, and training. At the 2019 conference, the team presented a recommendation based on the evaluation in order to initiate a roadmap for the Aquatic Commons
