CURRENT ISSUES AFFECTING TRADE AND TRADE POLICY: AN ANNOTATED LITERATURE REVIEW

    Get PDF
This review provides a base of literature describing current issues and research on the impacts of lobalization and the industrialization of agriculture and recent approaches to analyze and model agricultural trade and trade policies. Three key factors of the survey are differentiated goods, global economic integration and international supply chain linkages. The review covers 182 publications, which are presented alphabetically by author with a brief annotation describing how it relates to the above criteria. The articles are also indexed by keyword. A brief summary highlights the documented literature and includes a series of issues for future discussion and research.International Relations/Trade,

Irreversible demand is relevant to pricing strategy and demand modeling with weekly data. Competing explanations include loss aversion and stockpiling. Irreversible models for U.S. cheese and table spreads suggest that stockpiling dominates loss aversion. Price smoothing may be an inappropriate strategy in this case. Reversible demand models applied to weekly data may overestimate own-price elasticities.Demand and Price Analysis,

Weak and strong time consistency in differential oligopoly games with capital accumulation

    Get PDF
We illustrate two differential oligopoly games with capital accumulation where, alternatively, the accumulation dynamics of productive capacity is modelled either à la Solow—Swan or à la Ramsey. We show that in the first case the open-loop Nash equilibrium is only weakly time consistent, while in the second it is strongly so, although the Ramsey game is not state linear
