As telephony services, mobile services and internet services continue to converge, the prospect of providing Unified Messaging and even Unified Communications becomes increasingly achievable. This paper discusses the growing importance of IP-based networks to Unified Messaging developments and examines some of the key services and protocols that are likely to make Unified Messaging more widely available. In this initial paper, we limit ourselves initially to the unification of text-based messaging using SMS and Email. The approach we make is based on the existing Internet Email framework but will take cognisance of the need to add voice and other non-text based messaging and communications at a later stage. Ultimately, the research project aims to build a working prototype of a generic messaging model that works for both non realtime and real-time communications. This model will provide a framework into which existing and future messaging protocols can be plugged. This paper originated from an applied research project which examined the integration possibilities for various messaging and communications protocol

Over the last decade, the widespread demand and use of the internet has changed the direction of the telecommunications industry as it was recognised that the internet could be used as an inexpensive way to handle not only data but also voice communications. This convergence of traditional voice and data technologies towards an IP-based open architecture has been paralleled by a convergence of the internet and mobile communications. As a result of these convergences, unified messaging has emerged as a technically viable service. Integrated messaging services that offer partial unification of different message types are already in the marketplace. This paper asks what unified messaging means and examines underlying architectural developments that are likely to shape the unified messaging applications of the future

Saat ini sistem dapat berjalan pada platform android.----------Instant Messaging is one of the long-term communication tools that is realtime and has a fast transmission speed that can send messages in the form of text messages, images, videos, audio and files using the internet. Nowadays Instant Messaging is a communication tool that is widely used because of its ease of use. With the increasing number of Instant Messaging users, many unauthorized parties can steal data / messages sent via Instant Messaging. Instant Messaging is currently the majority of users are Android users. The way to secure messages on Instant Messaging is to use cryptography. In this thesis, a research is conducted on the application of encryption systems in Instant Messaging using the Elgamal algorithm on the Android platform. The results of this study show that the encryption system applied is safe to use compared to not using it. Currently the system can run on the Android platform

Social media, known as interactive Web 2.0 Internet-based applications, has deeply changed and reformed interpersonal communication and business operation with the wide spread of Internet and the development of technology. In the past few years, since mobile apps are becoming more and more popular, the access of social media is not limited to tablet computers only, but is also available for almost all kinds of smart phone devices, such as iPhone, Android, Symbian and so on. The function of social media is not confined to real- time message transmission or information sharing any more. It has expanded to a widely range of features, such as online purchase and payment, e-commerce business, and service for different types of social events. Social media plays an increasingly important role in daily personal life as well as in business activities. People are not merely considered as social media users, but also the component of social media itself. As a result, it is very crucial for people to realize the importance and impacts of social media, especially for those business operators. WeChat (Weixin in Chinses, literally “micro message”) is a cross-platform instant text and voice messaging communication service for multiple mobile devices, developed by Tecent in China, first released in the January of 2011. It is claimed to provide “the new way to connect” and create “a way of life”. It is free to download, install and register, and support all kinds of smart phone platforms with multiple language versions, such as Chinese, English, Japanese, French, and Spanish. WeChat provides its users different ways to communicate and interact with friends innovatively through instant text messaging, hold-to-talk voice messaging, group messaging, lively video sharing, location sharing, money transferring, and contact information sharing. Among all the WeChat users, Millennials is the majority. With the growing-up of Millennials, they are becoming more and more powerful and important to the society and will be the next target segmentation for most of the industries in the very near future. Especially for the hotel industry, the industry that urges to attract Millennials patrons for further substantial development, how to attract Millennials is becoming a critical issue for those hotel operators
