Internet Message Board Activity and Market Efficiency: A Case Study of the Internet Service Sector Using RagingBull.Com
This paper examines the relationships between internet message-board activity and abnormal stock returns and between internet message-board activity and abnormal trading volume. This study focuses on RagingBull.com and internet service sector stocks. I choose RagingBull.com because its format enables me to measure investor opinion objectively. I find that on days with abnormally high message activity changes in investor opinion correlate with with abnormal industry-adjusted returns. Additionally, days with abnormally high message activity coincide with abnormally high trading volume both that day and the following day. However, I find that, in general, message-board activity does not predict industry-adjusted returns or abnormal trading volume
Relational Schema Protocol (RSP)
This document specifies the Relational Schema Protocol (RSP). RSP enables
loosely coupled applications to share and exchange relational data. It defines
fixed message format for an arbitrary relational schema so that the changes in
the data schema do not affect the message format. This prevents the interacting
applications from having to be reimplemented during the data schema evolvement.Comment: IETF Internet-Draf
Data mediation to message level conflict in heterogeneous web services
Enterprise Information Systems
(EISs) are built in isolated and
independent environments leading to
unpredictable and incompatible structure
of data stores. An EI system can expose its
functionalities as Web services to share
resources of existing global internet
infrastructure. The goal of this research
paper is to facilitate inter-operation
between Web services. Successful and
reliable information (message) exchange
between Web services is necessary to meet
the current challenge of Enterprise
Information Integration (EII). A real-\ud
world business process, which consists of
Web services WS1 and WS2, can be used
as a practical scenario for data or message
exchange between Web services. In this
scenario, message is exchanged by using
output of WS1 as input of WS2. If data
format of WS1 and WS2 are heterogeneous
or incompatible, interoperation between
them is impossible if data mediation is not
used to resolve message level conflict and
incompatibility in the context of syntax
and semantics. Data Mediation requires
mapping a message from one format to
another. We propose to derive a mediation
technique that will enable previously less
inter-operative heterogeneous Web
services to become more inter-operative
now. To improve inter-operational
performance between Web services our
data mediation approach extends and
utilizes existing Web service supporting
tools WSDL and SAWSDL. (Authors' abstract

Dispute on the Internet: the format of discourse, linguistic technologies, modern language tactics
The concept of discourse is fundamental to modern linguistics. Discourse is a connecting link for all linguistic research, and modern ideas about discourse, without exaggeration, reflect the process of formation of linguistic science. The purpose of this work is to analyze the linguistic and stylistic features of the dispute on the Internet, namely: the format of discourse, linguistic technologies, and modern language tactics. The subject of the study is the debate on the Internet as a way to find out the positions of the participants in the discussion. During the study, a number of general scientific methods were used: the method of analogy, the method of generalization, the method of observation, the method of comparison, the method of experiment, the method of analysis, and the historical method. As a result of the research, the format of discourse, linguistic technologies, and modern language tactics of debate on the Internet were analyzed. Thus, it is emphasized that in the debate on the Internet, a combination of verbal and nonverbal components of the message realizes such an important feature of media discourse as multimedia. Non-verbal means of communication become a kind of background for the message, which thus receives additional expressive-emotional-evaluative overtones, which helps to put in the mind of the recipient a particular idea. In addition, the extreme pragmatism of modern man creates new challenges for its information. Today, to enhance the "presence effect", it is necessary to create the illusion of a new reality, an integral part of which is Internet discourse
