High Accuracy Human Activity Monitoring using Neural network
This paper presents the designing of a neural network for the classification
of Human activity. A Triaxial accelerometer sensor, housed in a chest worn
sensor unit, has been used for capturing the acceleration of the movements
associated. All the three axis acceleration data were collected at a base
station PC via a CC2420 2.4GHz ISM band radio (zigbee wireless compliant),
processed and classified using MATLAB. A neural network approach for
classification was used with an eye on theoretical and empirical facts. The
work shows a detailed description of the designing steps for the classification
of human body acceleration data. A 4-layer back propagation neural network,
with Levenberg-marquardt algorithm for training, showed best performance among
the other neural network training algorithms.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, 4 Tables, International Conference on Convergence

Leveraging Public Knowledge Project\u27s Open Conference Systems for Digital Scholarship
The Media History Exchange (MHX) is an archive, social network, conference management tool, and collaborative workspace for the international, interdisciplinary community of researchers studying the history of journalism and communication. It opens a new scholarly space between the academic conference and the peer-reviewed journal by archiving “born digital” conference papers and abstracts that frequently have not been saved previously. In the spring of 2017, MHX migrated to the Public Knowledge Project’s Open Conference Systems. If your library is interested in expanding its digital scholarship offerings to include conference support, or offers its own library-focused conference, this technology might be exactly what you need. Introduction. Understanding hate crime: research, policy and practice
In 2013, a group of scholars from Europe and North America came together to form the International Network for Hate Studies (INHS). The key aims of the network included bridging gaps between academics and policy makers/practitioners in the field, and "internationalizing" our understanding of hate crime generally. In the spring of 2014, INHS held its inaugural conference at the University of Sussex in Brighton, the United Kingdom. In this special edition of Criminal Justice Policy Review (CJPR), we bring together expanded versions of four of the keynote speeches from that conference. In distinct ways, each speaks to the key themes noted above, as this brief introduction will illustrate
