    Supervisory Control system and the Acquisition Data or SCADA is generalization of effective plant monitoring and conU'ol system in meeting production needs etc. The aim of the study is to prepare a SCADA system for AS/RS, functional Mechatronics Educational Material which simulates to real-life production system. Graphical control buttons to the system will be design to perform single or multiple tasks. The software is form Citect Pty. Limited called Citect SCADA. This project will be discussed as it applied in a CIM-70A at Mechatronic Laboratory of UTHM. Designing a controlling and monitoring system not only for AS/RS but it is also a way providing up-to-date data. It will provide system operators with central or local control using clear, concise, resizable graphics pages (screens). Graphical control buttons to the system will be design to perform single or multiple tasks. In the last chapter, some methodologies for solving the problem as well as to improve the SCADA are proposed

    Metamodelling of multivariable engine models for real-time flight simulation.

    Sophisticated real-time distributed flight simulation environments may be constructed from a wide range of modelling and simulation tools. In this way accuracy, detail and model flexibility may be incorporated into the simulator. Distributed components may be constructed by a wide range of methods, from high level environments such as Matlab, through coded environments such as C or Fortran to hardware-in-the- loop. In this paper the Response Surface Methodology is combined with a hyper-heuristic (evolutionary algorithm) and applied to the representation of computationally intensive non-linear multivariable engine modelling. The paper investigates the potential for metamodelling (models of models) dynamic models which were previously too slow to be included in multi-component, high resolution real-time simulation environments. A multi-dimensional gas turbine model with five primary control inputs, six environmental inputs and eleven outputs is considered. An investigation has been conducted to ascertain to what extent these systems can be approximated by response surfaces with experiments which have been designed by hyper-heuristics as a first step towards automatic modelling methodology

    Models of visual word recognition have been assessed by both factorial and regression approaches. Factorial approaches tend to provide a relatively weak test of models, and regression approaches give little indication of the sources of models’ mispredictions, especially when parameters are not optimal. A new alternative method, involving regression on model error, combines these two approaches with parameter optimization. The method is illustrated with respect to the dual route cascaded model of reading aloud. In contrast to previous investigations, this method provides clear evidence that there are parameter-independent problems with the model, and identifies two specific sources of misprediction made by model
