    Comparing Traditional and Integrative Learning Methods in Organizational Training Programs

    Previous research and anecdotal reports have suggested that when certain teaching approaches are utilized, students not only learn more, but also experience greater satisfaction with the training process. This study examined the effects of Integrative Learning-based (IL) training relative to lecture-based training. Employees enrolled in a three-day Manufacturing Resource Planning training course were randomly assigned to either IL or traditional training. Subjects reacted more favorably to IL-based training. Trained subjects performed significantly better than those in a no-treatment control group but no differences were noted between training interventions

    English Language Proficiency of Senior High School Students

    [EN] This paper aimed to determine the English language proficiency of senior high school students as input for the language extension program at Gammad National High School. Specifically, it determined the students proficiency level on the eight (8) parts of speech; the reading comprehension level along literal, interpretative, evaluative, and integrative; and the reading comprehension level on different genres such as a poem, essay, and short story. A descriptive research design was employed in the study. The fifty-one (51) respondents of Grade 11 senior high school students at Gammad National High School were chosen using the total enumeration technique.  An 82-item proficiency test was used as an instrument in gathering the data. Weighted mean was used in analyzing the data. Results of the study show that among the eight parts of speech, the senior high school students performed well in using adverbs, prepositions, and interjections but found it problematic of using verbs. On reading comprehension, the respondents excelled under literal level across all genres but not on integration and evaluation levels. The study concluded that the respondents are Proficient User of English or High level in using grammar and reading comprehension. They have mastered the basics of using the English language; however, they need to be exposed more to meaningful activities and varied texts to attain a high level of proficiency.The research would like to acknowledge the people who in one way or another have contributed to the success of this extension program “Communication Enhancement Training (CET)”.     There is scarcity of documentation that seeks to define spirituality relating to holistic nursing; consequently, a literature review was formulated to define spirituality and guide nursing practice towards recognizing the importance of and implementation of spiritual care. By researching the current trends in peer-reviewed journals from the past three years and analyzing associated articles, this paper addresses the need for a comprehensive definition of spirituality. Key concepts such as belief, values, interconnectedness with self, others and God, energy, hope and transcendence will be analyzed, and the accumulated data will be complied into a framework that is easy for a nurse to understand and use. This thesis strives to validate the necessity of spiritual care through the mechanism of holistic nursing and equip nurses to assess and implement care for the ever-present spiritual needs of one’s patients
