Information Extraction, Data Integration, and Uncertain Data Management: The State of The Art
Information Extraction, data Integration, and uncertain data management are different areas of research that got vast focus in the last two decades. Many researches tackled those areas of research individually. However, information extraction systems should have integrated with data integration methods to make use of the extracted information. Handling uncertainty in extraction and integration process is an important issue to enhance the quality of the data in such integrated systems. One-Class Classification: Taxonomy of Study and Review of Techniques
One-class classification (OCC) algorithms aim to build classification models
when the negative class is either absent, poorly sampled or not well defined.
This unique situation constrains the learning of efficient classifiers by
defining class boundary just with the knowledge of positive class. The OCC
problem has been considered and applied under many research themes, such as
outlier/novelty detection and concept learning. In this paper we present a
unified view of the general problem of OCC by presenting a taxonomy of study
for OCC problems, which is based on the availability of training data,
algorithms used and the application domains applied. We further delve into each
of the categories of the proposed taxonomy and present a comprehensive
literature review of the OCC algorithms, techniques and methodologies with a
focus on their significance, limitations and applications. We conclude our
paper by discussing some open research problems in the field of OCC and present

Parsing Speech: A Neural Approach to Integrating Lexical and Acoustic-Prosodic Information
In conversational speech, the acoustic signal provides cues that help
listeners disambiguate difficult parses. For automatically parsing spoken
utterances, we introduce a model that integrates transcribed text and
acoustic-prosodic features using a convolutional neural network over energy and
pitch trajectories coupled with an attention-based recurrent neural network
that accepts text and prosodic features. We find that different types of
acoustic-prosodic features are individually helpful, and together give
statistically significant improvements in parse and disfluency detection F1
scores over a strong text-only baseline. For this study with known sentence
boundaries, error analyses show that the main benefit of acoustic-prosodic
features is in sentences with disfluencies, attachment decisions are most
improved, and transcription errors obscure gains from prosody.Comment: Accepted in NAACL HLT 201
Context-Dependent Diffusion Network for Visual Relationship Detection
Visual relationship detection can bridge the gap between computer vision and
natural language for scene understanding of images. Different from pure object
recognition tasks, the relation triplets of subject-predicate-object lie on an
extreme diversity space, such as \textit{person-behind-person} and
\textit{car-behind-building}, while suffering from the problem of combinatorial
explosion. In this paper, we propose a context-dependent diffusion network
(CDDN) framework to deal with visual relationship detection. To capture the
interactions of different object instances, two types of graphs, word semantic
graph and visual scene graph, are constructed to encode global context
interdependency. The semantic graph is built through language priors to model
semantic correlations across objects, whilst the visual scene graph defines the
connections of scene objects so as to utilize the surrounding scene
information. For the graph-structured data, we design a diffusion network to
adaptively aggregate information from contexts, which can effectively learn
latent representations of visual relationships and well cater to visual
relationship detection in view of its isomorphic invariance to graphs.
Experiments on two widely-used datasets demonstrate that our proposed method is
