    Integration of technology tools and resources is imperative when working with today’s students as many are expecting to encounter various apps and media-based software in the curriculum. It is important, however, to have a clear purpose for integrating technology into the classroom; technology should not be integrated into the curriculum simply for the sake of doing so! To assist with purposeful integration, faculty members from Nova Southeastern University and St. Thomas University created a Technology Integration Learning Community (TILC); an online professional learning community where members teach each other about the latest and greatest technological tools and share ideas for integration into the curriculum. Anytime an instructor is thinking of integrating technology into a classroom, it is important to use a model or framework as a guide to enhance the objectives or outcomes as well as ensure accessibility for all students.     Bringing the visual arts classroom into the 21st century technology has become a key component to everyday life and society, especially in education. Although teachers are faced with many barriers that can hinder the integration of technology into the classroom, such as cost/funding, teacher training, and teacher planning time, with some support and planning, teachers will begin to see and use technology as a invaluable resource and tool in the classroom. The purpose of this project was to provide visual arts teachers with the information, background, and tools to begin their journey of integrating technology into the visual arts classroom. A curricular unit was developed to provide visual arts teachers with an example of how technology can be successfully and easily incorporated into their classrooms. Through this curricular unit many tools, ideas, and options were introduced to better equip them for this task

Many teachers are integrating multimedia tools in teaching students different skills including synthesizing, analyzing, evaluating, and presenting information. When students use technology, they learn to convert data into information and transform information into knowledge. Also, using multimedia tools gives students the opportunity to participate and interact in the classroom. Consequently, the trend for integrating technology into education has become more widespread in most schools today. Digital storytelling is one of the multimedia tools that can support teaching and learning as well as students’ motivation. This research explores how digital storytelling can be an effective tool for both teachers and students in order to support learning and skills.     Changes in Teachers’ Classroom Instruction as a Result of Training in Computer Technology

    This article presents a study that was carried out two years after teachers completed a training course in computerized instruction, entitled “Intel Education for the Future”. The purpose of the study was to measure the degree to which the teachers internalized the skills taught in the training course, thereby, assisting them in integrating the use of the computer in the classroom. For this purpose, certain parameters were chosen: the teacher’s method of working in the classroom, the effect of computer instruction on the students and the difficulties encountered upon integrating the computer in the classroom. The research tools were questionnaires and interviews. The main conclusion of the research was that the teachers successfully internalized the skills needed for the use of technology. Teachers are now using the computer to search for information suitable for worksheets and tests and for e-mailing their colleagues. Most of the teachers noted that the most useful tool for their work is the office program. The teachers pointed out that the use of computers raises the students’ motivation and improves their understanding of the material. They did not report any special difficulties in integrating the computer into their teaching methods

However, problems dealing with technology context in EFL classroom setting such as inaccessible high technology tool, unstable electricity source and unreliable data connection sometimes occur and therefore limit the teaching and learning experience. This paper aims to explore the way of coping with limited technology contexts by carefully selecting and then integrating three most familiar technical tools to the EFL classroom activity namely Facebook, mobile phone and computer, and by manipulating its features to construct the students’ learning experiences in both actual and virtual learning environment

    A paradigm shift is on the horizon for the way computer applications are designed, developed and deployed. The focus is shifting away from the development structure of ‘one program equals one application’ to one application made up of a collection of small functional components referred to as services. While the technology is still evolving, it is imperative that information systems programs become proactive in integrating the concepts of the Service Oriented Architecture into their curriculum and providing exposure to its associated tools in the classroom. However, migrating to these new technologies is not trivial. This paper provides an overview of one university’s experience of introducing this new paradigm into the college classroom though utilizing Microsoft’s .NET environment

    Preservice Secondary Mathematics Teachers’ Reflections in Using Excelets as a Tool for Modeling

    With widespread adoption of technology for all into schools across the U.S., teachers need to be prepared to integrate these tools into classroom instruction. For mathematics, modeling problems with technology provides a key opportunity for students to experience the active nature of such tools in making sense of mathematics concepts. In order to gain insight into incorporating these tools into modeling tasks, preservice teachers need exposure to them as along with reflection on their use. This case study of 12 preservice secondary mathematics teachers enrolled in a mathematics methods course focused on a modeling task that was presented in an Excelet. Participants went through the Excelet and then reflected on the experience they had in interacting with it. Data included a video-recording of participants thinking-aloud while working through the Excelet and a survey consisting of 10 Likert-type and 5 open-ended questions where they reflected on their experience. Findings indicate that by reflecting on the experience related to using this tool, preservice teachers gained insight into challenges in integrating technology within content instruction. Participants fell into categories of strong or weak reflective individuals crossed with strong or weak users of technology. Findings of this study provide more evidence that teacher preparation programs still have work to do in preparing mathematics teachers to integrate technological tools into classroom instruction
