Ontology alignment based on word embedding and random forest classification.
Ontology alignment is crucial for integrating heterogeneous data sources and forms an important component for realising the goals of the semantic web. Accordingly, several ontology alignment techniques have been proposed and used for discovering correspondences between the concepts (or entities) of different ontologies. However, these techniques mostly depend on string-based similarities which are unable to handle the vocabulary mismatch problem. Also, determining which similarity measures to use and how to effectively combine them in alignment systems are challenges that have persisted in this area. In this work, we introduce a random forest classifier approach for ontology alignment which relies on word embedding to discover semantic similarities between concepts. Specifically, we combine string-based and semantic similarity measures to form feature vectors that are used by the classifier model to determine when concepts match. By harnessing background knowledge and relying on minimal information from the ontologies, our approach can deal with knowledge-light ontological resources. It also eliminates the need for learning the aggregation weights of multiple similarity measures. Our experiments using Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI) dataset and real-world ontologies highlight the utility of our approach and show that it can outperform state-of-the-art alignment systems

Reaching this goal is challenging due to users’ diversity: people with disabilities, elderly and children, and other vulnerable groups. Notifications are critical when an emergency scenario is going to happen (e.g. a typhoon approaching) so the ability to transmit notifications to different kind of users is a crucial feature for such systems. In this work an ontology was developed by investigating different sources: accessibility guidelines, emergency response systems, communication devices and technologies, taking into account the different abilities of people to react to different alarms (e.g. mobile phone vibration as an alarm for deafblind people). We think that the proposed ontology addresses the information needs for sharing and integrating emergency notification messages over distinct emergency response information systems providing accessibility under different conditions and for different kind of users.Ministerio de Educación y Cienci
Discovering the Impact of Knowledge in Recommender Systems: A Comparative Study
Recommender systems engage user profiles and appropriate filtering techniques
to assist users in finding more relevant information over the large volume of
information. User profiles play an important role in the success of
recommendation process since they model and represent the actual user needs.
However, a comprehensive literature review of recommender systems has
demonstrated no concrete study on the role and impact of knowledge in user
profiling and filtering approache. In this paper, we review the most prominent
recommender systems in the literature and examine the impression of knowledge
extracted from different sources. We then come up with this finding that
semantic information from the user context has substantial impact on the
performance of knowledge based recommender systems. Finally, some new clues for

Utilising ontology-based modelling for learning content management

Integrating descriptions of knowledge management learning activities into large ontological structures: A case study
Ontologies have been recognized as a fundamental infrastructure for advanced approaches to Knowledge Management (KM) automation, and the conceptual foundations for them have been discussed in some previous reports. Nonetheless, such conceptual structures should be properly integrated into existing ontological bases, for the practical purpose of providing the required support for the development of intelligent applications. Such applications should ideally integrate KM concepts into a framework of commonsense knowledge with clear computational semantics. In this paper, such an integration work is illustrated through a concrete case study, using the large OpenCyc knowledge base. Concretely, the main elements of the Holsapple & Joshi KM ontology and some existing work on e-learning ontologies are explicitly linked to OpenCyc definitions, providing a framework for the development of functionalities that use the built-in reasoning services of OpenCyc in KM ctivities. The integration can be used as the point of departure for the engineering of KM-oriented systems that account for a shared understanding of the discipline and rely on public semantics provided by one of the largest open knowledge bases available

This research is a survey to determine the career chosen of form four student
in commerce streams. The important aspect of the career chosen has been divided
into three, first is information about career, type of career and factor that most
influence students in choosing a career. The study was conducted at Sekolah
Menengah Teknik Kajang, Selangor Darul Ehsan. Thirty six form four students was
chosen by using non-random sampling purpose method as respondent. All
information was gather by using questionnaire. Data collected has been analyzed in
form of frequency, percentage and mean. Results are performed in table and graph.
The finding show that information about career have been improved in students
career chosen and mass media is the main factor influencing students in choosing
their career
