Integrated Green Cloud Computing Architecture
Arbitrary usage of cloud computing, either private or public, can lead to
uneconomical energy consumption in data processing, storage and communication.
Hence, green cloud computing solutions aim not only to save energy but also
reduce operational costs and carbon footprints on the environment. In this
paper, an Integrated Green Cloud Architecture (IGCA) is proposed that comprises
of a client-oriented Green Cloud Middleware to assist managers in better
overseeing and configuring their overall access to cloud services in the
greenest or most energy-efficient way. Decision making, whether to use local
machine processing, private or public clouds, is smartly handled by the
middleware using predefined system specifications such as service level
agreement (SLA), Quality of service (QoS), equipment specifications and job
description provided by IT department. Analytical model is used to show the
feasibility to achieve efficient energy consumption while choosing between

Big data Empowered Logistics Services Platform
Logistics section is one of the most important industrial sections to contribute to European economy. To improving efficiency and energy efficient of logistics, European Commission call new research theme ‘smart, green and integrated transport’ in its H2020 program. The paper presents a version on providing a cloud based platform for supporting big data empowered logistics services to respond this call. The research is supported by inter-disciplinary approaches, which brings experts from telecommunication, cloud computing, sensor networking, service-oriented computing, data analysis, transportation, and logistics areas to work together to provide real-world solutions for future logistics. A Case Study for Business Integration as a Service
This paper presents Business Integration as a Service (BIaaS) to allow two services to work together in the Cloud to achieve a streamline process. We illustrate this integration using two services; Return on Investment (ROI) Measurement as a Service (RMaaS) and Risk Analysis as a Service (RAaaS) in the case study at the University of Southampton. The case study demonstrates the cost-savings and the risk analysis achieved, so two services can work as a single service. Advanced techniques are used to demonstrate statistical services and 3D Visualisation services under the remit of RMaaS and Monte Carlo Simulation as a Service behind the design of RAaaS. Computational results are presented with their implications discussed. Different types of risks associated with Cloud adoption can be calculated easily, rapidly and accurately with the use of BIaaS. This case study confirms the benefits of BIaaS adoption, including cost reduction and improvements in efficiency and risk analysis. Implementation of BIaaS in other organisations is also discussed. Important data arising from the integration of RMaaS and RAaaS are useful for management and stakeholders of University of Southampton
