FreeLing 3.0: Towards Wider Multilinguality

Get PDF
FreeLing is an open-source multilingual language processing library providing a wide range of analyzers for several languages. It offers text processing and language annotation facilities to NLP application developers, lowering the cost of building those applications. FreeLing is customizable, extensible, and has a strong orientation to real-world applications in terms of speed and robustness. Developers can use the default linguistic resources (dictionaries, lexicons, grammars, etc.), extend/adapt them to specific domains, or –since the library is open source– develop new ones for specific languages or special application needs. This paper describes the general architecture of the library, presents the major changes and improvements included in FreeLing version 3.0, and summarizes some relevant industrial projects in which it has been used.Postprint (published version

English as an international language has been long to the subject to be learned in Indonesia. In the globalization era, English as an important thing for communication along with the popularity of science and technology. Indonesia has a good competence in many aspects. Indonesian people not just rely on physical ability and natural resources to achieve the prosperity of the nation, but also rely on professional human resources. Not only has a good communication, they must also have good language skills in oral and written English. Here, the researcher develop the English material for Industrial Electronic Engineering major. In the process of material development, the researcher adapts ADDIE development model. First step is need analysis in which the researcher analyzes the students’ need by giving questionnaire and doing interview with the expert. Second step is creating design instruction in which the researcher makes a syllabus and draft of the English material based on the result of needs analysis. Third, the researcher starts to develop automotive engineering material based on the draft. Fourth step is validating the module to the experts which the researcher gives the module to the expert to be validated. Fifth step is do try-out in which the researcher conducts it to the students. Sixth step is the researcher revises the module based on the suggestion of the experts. The last step is the final product in which the product is ready used as guideline. Based on this study, the researcher hopes that this module gives advantage to industrial electronic engineering student. This English module hopes can be used to teach English for this major in an organized way. For the further researcher, the researcher suggests that the further researcher encloses explanation of special industrial electronic engineering term

This article presents a verification and validation approach which is used here in order to complete the classical tool box the industrial user may utilize in enterprise modeling and integration domain. This approach, which has been defined independently from any application domain is based on several formal concepts and tools presented in this paper. These concepts are property concepts, property reference matrix, properties graphs, enterprise modeling domain ontology, conceptual graphs and formal reasoning mechanisms

In 1999, the Presidential Task Force on the Employment of Adults with Disabilities (PTFEAD) funded Cornell University to conduct a survey of federal sector HR and EEO representatives regarding their experience implementing the employment disability nondiscrimination requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990(ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. One of the recommendations from this research was to conduct a follow-up study of federal agency supervisors and managers about their experience in accommodation and employment of persons with disabilities in the federal sector, and in addition to inquire about their awareness of the series of Executive Orders issued in 2000 supporting employment and accommodation of individuals with disabilities in the Federal workforce. This report provides information on the results from this survey, which was conducted in 2001

This paper is concerned with the role of network administrative organizations (NAOs) in the development of social capital in inter‐organizational networks aiming at supporting their members to innovate in the food sector through interacting with one another. A multi‐case study approach is used whereby three Belgian inter‐organizational networks are investigated i.e. Wagralim, Réseau‐Club and Flanders Food. Our study shows that there are many options available to NAOs to build social capital within the networks they are responsible for; options which we propose to categorize in three main distinct groups: creation of boundary objects, careful selection of members and effective communication.</p
