Airport Sustainability: IND Solar Farm

Solar Farm at Indianapolis International Airport—The Indianapolis International Airport is home to the world’s largest airport-based solar farm complex: Its three solar farms occupy more than 180 acres of land. This project represents a successful public-private partnership, returning undeveloped aviation buffer land to commercial use. We will review the project’s various components, focusing on the aviation aspects, hurdles that were overcome, and lessons learned

WILLS-CONSTRUCTION-USE OF EXTRINSIC EVIDENCE

A suit was brought for construction of a will bequeathing a sum of money To the Home for the Aged located at 2007 N. Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. A home for the aged was conducted at that address by Altenheim of Indianapolis, while Indianapolis Home for the Aged, Inc. was located at 1731 N. Capitol Avenue. The probate court resolved the contest in favor of Altenheim of Indianapolis, holding the bequest to be unambiguous. On appeal, held, reversed. Upon attempted application the bequest was ambiguous and extrinsic evidence was admissible to interpret the language employed. One judge dissented on the ground that the will contained no ambiguity. Press Release: October 22, 1957, Lectures and honorary degrees to precede new law building dedication

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Lectures on three phases of law -- practice, judicial interpretation, and teaching -- will provide a two-day program preceding the dedication Nov. 2 of the new law school building at Indiana University. Addison C. Harris Lectures, a series provided from the estate of the late Indianapolis attorney, have been scheduled by the School of Law for the afternoon of Oct. 31 and on Nov. 1. The University, it was announced Monday by Dean Leon H. Wallace, will confer honorary doctor of laws degrees at the convocation on Chief Justice Warren, Herman C. Krannert, board chairman of Inland Container Corp., of Indianapolis, and Kurt F. Pantzer, Indianapolis attorney. The two Indianapolis men have been active in efforts to adapt law curriculums and teaching to modern practice

MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS-BILLBOARDS-PROHIBITION NEAR PARKS AND BOULEVARDS

The defendant acting under statutory authority passed an ordinance prohibiting billboards within five hundred feet of any park or boulevard. A comparison of total bacteria counts of raw and pasteurized milk

The purpose of this study was to compare the total bacteria count in samples of raw and pasteurized milk from the Golden Guernsey Association, of Indianapolis, Ind., using both the Breed-Prescott direct microscopic method and the standard agar plate method. In addition, a record of the types of organisms observed in the direct microscopic count was made for each sample
