GraphSE: An Encrypted Graph Database for Privacy-Preserving Social Search
In this paper, we propose GraphSE, an encrypted graph database for online
social network services to address massive data breaches. GraphSE preserves
the functionality of social search, a key enabler for quality social network
services, where social search queries are conducted on a large-scale social
graph and meanwhile perform set and computational operations on user-generated
contents. To enable efficient privacy-preserving social search, GraphSE
provides an encrypted structural data model to facilitate parallel and
encrypted graph data access. It is also designed to decompose complex social
search queries into atomic operations and realise them via interchangeable
protocols in a fast and scalable manner. We build GraphSE with various
queries supported in the Facebook graph search engine and implement a
full-fledged prototype. Extensive evaluations on Azure Cloud demonstrate that

Higher-dimensional models of networks
Networks are often studied as graphs, where the vertices stand for entities
in the world and the edges stand for connections between them. While relatively
easy to study, graphs are often inadequate for modeling real-world situations,
especially those that include contexts of more than two entities. For these
situations, one typically uses hypergraphs or simplicial complexes.
In this paper, we provide a precise framework in which graphs, hypergraphs,
simplicial complexes, and many other categories, all of which model higher
graphs, can be studied side-by-side. We show how to transform a hypergraph into
its nearest simplicial analogue, for example. Our framework includes many new
categories as well, such as one that models broadcasting networks. We give
several examples and applications of these ideas
Loopedia, a Database for Loop Integrals
Loopedia is a new database at loopedia.org for information on Feynman
integrals, intended to provide both bibliographic information as well as
results made available by the community. Its bibliometry is complementary to
that of SPIRES or arXiv in the sense that it admits searching for integrals by

Km4City Ontology Building vs Data Harvesting and Cleaning for Smart-city Services
Presently, a very large number of public and private data sets are available
from local governments. In most cases, they are not semantically interoperable
and a huge human effort would be needed to create integrated ontologies and
knowledge base for smart city. Smart City ontology is not yet standardized, and
a lot of research work is needed to identify models that can easily support the
data reconciliation, the management of the complexity, to allow the data
reasoning. In this paper, a system for data ingestion and reconciliation of
smart cities related aspects as road graph, services available on the roads,
traffic sensors etc., is proposed. The system allows managing a big data volume
of data coming from a variety of sources considering both static and dynamic
data. These data are mapped to a smart-city ontology, called KM4City (Knowledge
Model for City), and stored into an RDF-Store where they are available for
applications via SPARQL queries to provide new services to the users via
specific applications of public administration and enterprises. The paper
presents the process adopted to produce the ontology and the big data
architecture for the knowledge base feeding on the basis of open and private
data, and the mechanisms adopted for the data verification, reconciliation and
validation. Some examples about the possible usage of the coherent big data
knowledge base produced are also offered and are accessible from the RDF-Store

An experiment with ontology mapping using concept similarity
This paper describes a system for automatically mapping between concepts in different ontologies. The motivation for the research stems from the Diogene project, in which the project's own ontology covering the ICT domain is mapped to external ontologies, in order that their associated content can automatically be included in the Diogene system. An approach involving measuring the similarity of concepts is introduced, in which standard Information Retrieval indexing techniques are applied to concept descriptions. A matrix representing the similarity of concepts in two ontologies is generated, and a mapping is performed based on two parameters: the domain coverage of the ontologies, and their levels of granularity. Finally, some initial experimentation is presented which suggests that our approach meets the project's unique set of requirements
