Lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) individuals are members of a vulnerable group where health disparities have been identified. To gain a better understanding of the LGB college student healthcare experience and its contribution to the healthcare disparities found in LGB population, a community based participatory research (CBPR) approach was used to fill the gap. This paper will outline the CBPR process with an emphasis on how the principle investigator applied the tenets of CBPR when working with a local LGB college community. Several lessons learned from the research process are also shared in this paper

This study examined quality assurance practice and internationalization in a private university College (Wisconsin International University College, WIUC) with the intention of improving teaching and learning especially for international students.  A descriptive design of cross-sectional nature was used. It explored from the views of respondents important issues that constitute learning satisfaction and ways to enhance effective teaching and learning especially for students.  One hundred (100) respondents who are international students completed the questionnaire.  Students viewed external and internal audits by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) and Quality Assurance and Institutional Relations Unit (QAIRU) of the WIUC respectively as essential to enhance quality. On student’s evaluation of lecturers, respondents agreed that appropriate feedback following evaluation is essential to facilitate student participation in future events. To assure quality and improve teaching and learning in the University College, respondents agreed that full engagement of students through the amount of time and effort put into teaching, learning and assessment as well as the commitment of more institutional resources, curricula and other learning opportunities are important to promote experiences that lead to more learning, satisfaction and successful graduation. Get PDF
Co- education involves a whole of strategies, practices, perspectives and options all of which allow the admission of typically and non- typically developed children in the General School. The issue, however, remains whether school can be restructured as a place where the equal participation of all children in the educational process and the acceptance of their diversities, are ascertained or not. In the context of the present research which was conducted during the 2014- 2015 school year, views of Greek Kindergarten Teachers (N: 217) and Elementary School teachers (N: 303) in the District of Epirus were assessed, regarding the factors which affect admission in the general school, of children with special educational needs. From the extracted data, the need for the general school to be aptly organized and the educators to work together in the context of a dynamic collaboration, not only with each other, but also with the special and parallel support educators, appeared on the purpose of determining the strategies, the practices, the suitable preconditions and the content of the educational process.  Article visualizations
